Trade schools are good. I took night classes at a community college for welding after considering HVAC, plumbing and electrician for my retirement job.
High ceilings, ceiling fans, window fans and that new white paint might be enough.
That's cool. I think my father passed away, maybe, in part because he didn't have avocations or hobbies when he slowed down his life's work.
I think many men do that. If you work your whole life and then suddenly someone hands you a gold watch and the phone stops ringing, what then?
Chase a golf ball, or feed the ducks? Sadly it appears many hit the keyboards in a daily fit of right wing rage. Can't be good for their vital signs.
Stop with the cynicism. Without Unions management would surely raise consumer prices to ensure maximum wages for all their employees, knowing that all other companies would
do so too rather than run them out of business to increase market share and profit.

Why are you anti-union? Sure, there's good and bad in anything, but allowing employees to band together against a corporation is a good thing IMO.

I don't know the law of NRLB but I think there must be some minimum number of employees. That's about the only arbitrary limit I'd place.

An excellent assessment and agreed. The problem appears to be a "loss of identity".
A study of military retirees followed those who retired after 20 and those who retired after 30. After 20, the retiree is usually 38-42 years old. After 30, 48-52.
The 20 year retirees usually find a second career thus rounding out their identity to more than "retired military". The 30 year retirees usually retired to golf course and fishing but become bored. Many feel too old to start a new career at 55.
My career was broken up into three sections which, IMHO, gave me more flexibility. Marine Corps then Navy then civilian airline pilot. All required me to adapt and get out of my rut.
Notice the American Taliban on this forum attacking women for going to college; look at their background for a clue on why they feel that way. IMO, it's because they are lost themselves and jealous/envious.
On TOW's thread, she's a 70+ American attending classes for the joy of learning. She's been repeatedly attack by the same selfish prick losers who are attacking American women going to college.
So why complain and seek to strip Americans of their First Amendment rights?

This forum is full of Liberals virtually spitting on both police and our military almost daily. Now the Party of Trump is doing the same thing with eager American Taliban dogpiling on "woke", pussified military whose leaders should be shot as traitors.
It's been predicted for decades that the United States military is become more and more isolated by attacks as described. Civilian leaders have become more and more emboldened to shitcan military leaders over politics and they do it with the full support of their Party members in Congress, most of which are non-military.
Only a fucking moron thinks what happened on 1/6 can't happen again unless our government and elected leaders take action to prevent it. If it happens again, will there be a General Milley there to refuse to participate?
IMO, had a military leader accepted and overthrown the US government, the next order of business would have been to round up and execute all the civilian leadership who supported overthrowing our nation's lawful government. The JCS would become the leadership.
That's not a good scenario, but all I see are fucking morons effectively saying "No big thang!" and going back to their political nitpicking.
