More "Hitlers Children type" indoctriniation...

You really don't get it, do you?

Those childreb are probably better educated than you are, Whiz Kid.

Ahh, thats refreshing; you hypocrite is showing again.

So, what do I not get? You keep saying that. Boy, I must be pretty blind not to see what Howey the Housewife sees.

Its not the one kid. Its all children. Its a rogue teachers actions. Its about the PR face of the school downplaying this event. Its about people like you downplaying the authority of the teacher in a 4th grade class, the inability of children to comphrehend and properly process such information. Its informal indoctrination. How can you fuss so much over the multiple threads you've started over indoctrination and then ignore cases where you agree with the message of it? Hypocrite.

Again...you're talking out of your ignorant ass. This is Duval County, Florida - Jacksonville. One of the most conservative parts of the state. It's also in Cedar Hills, near the Jax Naval Station, one of the most conservative areas of the city. Do you really think a rogue teacher would survive there?

This is a program to teach children critical thinking. That is the ability to judge a statement on its own merits for yourself, considering all relevant factors rationally, rather than simply accepting the opinions or beliefs of others.

Here's when education professionals say students should start learning critical thinking.

In recent years, however, there's been a shift toward teaching critical thinking, a skill that elevates thinking beyond memorization into the realm of analysis and logic.

Put another way, critical thinking is about knowing how to think, not what to think. Teachers use a number of techniques to help students learn critical thinking, starting as early as kindergarten and ramping up especially in 2nd grade and beyond.

It's obvious you've never received this training.

You don't "get" your own use of the word "if" in your statements. Much like your community college doesn't teach spelling, it obviously doesn't teach English grammar.

I'm not "Howey the Housewife", tyvm. I'm retired military. I wasn't kicked out like you and STY.

Its also obvious you haven't critically analyzed that short article. The books they recommend are 'Skip Hop' and 'Clifford and the Dinosaurs'. Quite a far cry from the bill of rights. As far as how conservative it is, WGAS. That's not what people are chargrined about.

They had to get a lawyer in the class, they knew what they were doing was at least controversial. Needlessly so. And pretty expensive, I think. Now go and bitch about how everyone is unwilling to spend more on education.

I'm glad you can now tell me what I meant in my writing, or my intentions when I question others interpretation of it. Poor brainwashed Howey.

Not even going to comment on this, scumwad.

LOL. You idiots don't know when to give up. First off, you asked for a citation on my claim that you used the word "forced." I provided it and you CLEALY introduced the word.

You were implying that she forced them and that you would be okay IF she had not. The if made your approval conditional.

The teacher had nothing to do with it and the lawyer did not force them to agree with the position written down.

The teacher had nothing to do with it and the lawyer did not force them to agree with the position written down ?.

Lets go over is again...

Can you possibly be more obtuse or utterly stupid ?

THE ATTORNEY LESSON...

The attorney leads the kids to the conclusion that ALL our Constitutional rights are precious and we should refuse to surrender any of them. This exercise is based on Benjamin Frankin’s quote that, “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Here is the lesson: http://www.justiceteaching.org/resou...Elementary.pdf The point is #9. When the students identify the "less important" rights, the attorney attempts to explain just how precious they are and how important it is to retain EACH AND EVERY ONE and not be willing to sacrifice any of them.

The TEACHERS LESSON.....

"According to the children, [the teacher] spoke the sentence and they had to write down what she said," said Aaron Harvey, the fourth grader's concerned father.
Harvey said his son did what he was told during a civics lesson at Cedar Hills Elementary School and wrote, "I am willing to give up some of my constitution rights in order to be safer or more secure."

The lesson conclusion in RED (the attys) is in DIRECT OPPOSITION to what the teacher had the kids write......180 degrees out....

The teacher had nothing to do with it and the lawyer did not force them to agree with the position written down ?.

[/B]

I quoted from the teaching justice lesson plan. They were instructed to write it down. They were not required to agree with it.

Harvey is full of shit.

You are obviously cutting and pasting your text as your link did not work. Who exactly are you attempting to let think for you because it's obvious that you are not doing any?

Just want bump this thread to contrast against the idiots attack on the fifth amendment. Not only did this story turn out to be wrong, but nova actually agrees with the ideas he wrongly accused a teacher of promoting.
