His lawyers were unable to give Judge Dearie any evidence they had been de-classified, so the jokers making the claim he de-classified them are full of baloney.

I give Pence a lot of credit for being proactive about this. They were found because he asked someone to look. I still believe this is common, and I'll bet more will come to light. Both of these cases, and probably the others going forward are NOTHING like the Trump case.

To me, the biggest problem, besides Trump thinking the documents belong to him, lies with The National Archives. There should be a better system of tracking documents.

I agree, Trump had documents that were de-classified.

Biden had documents as a Senator that he could not de-classify.

Here is the bottom line. This almost certainly happens all the time. It is only news because Trump refused to return the ones he had in his possession, and actually hid them, forcing the FBI to raid his home. It's a nothing burger. But it isn't. What say you?

No, twump was a special case. Not only did twump refuse to return them, he lied about having them, then lied about returning them and when that didn't work he claimed the FBI planted them. And when that didn't work twump claimed "he declassified them by thinking about them".

Several of the WH staff at the time testified that they told him it was illegal for him to take certain things over and over
