I decided to live in a box from the first day Bush was in office and came out just when Obama took office. This, considering what people have told me thus far about the years i've spent secluded, away from all that 'civilization', i have determined to be a remarkable feat of precognition. I have learned a lot about the goings on while i was 'not around,' but sadly i have not yet studied US-China relations from 2001-2009. I assume however, that, since you are obviously so outraged at President Obama's 'acceptance' of China's conduct concerning human rights, President Bush cut off all ties to said country in protest of their practices (assuming the Chinese did not take a break during said time period), and President Obama revived relations with said country upon coming into office because of his blatant disregard for said rights. Am I right? Please tell me I'm right. I do so LOVE being right.

still, being a populist (assume that you mean the populism that always goes for what the majority wants [once again: ass + you + me, tell me if i'm wrong]) you should accept the fact that most people, when made aware of the facts, would not agree with severing all ties with china.

Oh believe me my friend, I am aware of the meanings of 'totalitarian' and of 'fascist' as they appear in a dictionary. But it is your own, your very own, possibly 'subtle' shades of meaning, of which I am particularly concerned.
You see, I have already told you that I do not agree with totalitarianism and I have briefly alluded to the fact that China certainly is totalitarian in parts. It is not, however fascist in the dictionary definition. Hence my plea to you to explain YOUR meanings of the term. You use 'totalitarian' correctly as an adjective modifying the noun 'fascist'.
Do you understand? If you don't I'll gladly try to simplify it.
Oh and you keep telling me I am failing. I was not aware that I was being tested. Certainly I am failing miserably in engaging you in any kind of adult discussion. For that I really am sorry.

No. totally wrong on several counts.
I fully believe that a majority can be convinced to do what's bad for them. So for me, populism does not equal majority rule.
I believe most people when made aware of the facts, the dangers in outsourcing all production capacity, the job losses of allowing corporations to send all jobs overseas, would choose to say no to trade deals which harm our nation from several perspectives.
most people just need to be deprogrammed from the lies the fascist globalization zealots have put into their brains.

luckily i read your last post first, because reading the phrase "fascist globalization zealots" made me realize the futility of this argument. and after all, what fun is arguing if you cant win?
