They are changing residences by the tens of thousands. They're moving to other states that are Republican run where they can afford to live, get a house, and have a decent paying job rather than wondering how they'll afford anything like in California.
That day arrived long ago.
People on the Right generally don't tell others how to live their lives or expect those that are successful to give all their wealth to those that are lazy and unproductive, like you.
I view the Left with scorn and beyond because they have earned it. My argument is California's economy is slowly crumbling into ruin because of Leftists. It would be thriving if it weren't for them.
Most are not and doing quite well. In fact, of the top 10 fiscally sound states, something like 9 are blue Republican run ones. The top three teetering economic disasters in terms of state budgets are California, New York, and Illinois. All three are losing business and population. Hemorrhaging might be a better term.
All three have a state gdp in decline.

This ignores history. The importance and economic contributions of states has shifted over time and history. The now infamous "Rust Belt" was once the heartland of US industry. Not anymore as the tag implies. "Silicon Valley" was on the East Coast from Massachusetts to New York from the 30's to the 70's. It went to California and now is in Arizona and Texas.
But each time, it is government with ever increasing taxes and regulation that ended up forcing the move.
California is in deep fiscal trouble at the moment with a $68 billion shortfall in revenue. Illinois and New York are hardly better. At some point they have to pay the piper and that day isn't long off.
Parse out what states get "subsidies" versus federal spending that is location specific like military bases, national parks, and the like and the red states come out ahead of the blue ones where social-welfare and other handout programs dominate their budgets.

The military bases and other big expenses that government of both stripes put in Red States is just another form of subsidy. Biden was directing the bulk of infrastructure spending to Red States for that reason.
You have a hypothesis that Blue States will falter which is simply your guess. I am speaking to REALITY and reality today is that Red States are by far the worst run and welfare States. They have bottom of the barrel metrics in almost all areas from Education to Health care to an ability to help their poorest citizens.
