Cowardice is blowing up women and children because, ah hell, it's really not worth it to actually figure out who the terrorists are, and they're brown anyway so who gives a fuck. Those bastards deserve to be tortured to death on national television.
 
Seriously. Just hang all the senior leadership of the intelligence community, as well as a bunch of the middle level people as well. The only way to change the culture is to completely remove it from the system. You can't let actions like this go unpunished.

My concern for the average sane Afghani citizen is probably about the same as his concern is for me. He probably does not wish me any ill, but he certainly doesn't want ill to befall him and his loved ones first and foremost. If the roles were reversed and the Afghani CIA were over here interrogating suspects to keep them secure back home in Kabul, using the methods we use, I'm quite certain not nearly as many Afghani panties would be as wadded up as yours are.

But we can all discuss this rationally. Let's do a test; you dunk me into ice water, and then I saw your head off with a steak knife. This can be followed by a reasoned discussion of the relative severity of both processes.

Though I don't disagree with you, they are being spooks after all. My ire is pointed at the Senate who is trying to wash their hands from this embarrassing episode by trying to claim they were misled by the intelligence community. I say that's bullshit. They knew god damned well what these characters were doing and gave them their tacit approval. Now they're simply trying to wash their own bloody hands clean.

It doesn't have to be a partisan issue. It's really really easy to make it not be. All it requires is for you to take the view that torture is immoral and illegal and that the CIA should not lie to Congress. Not really all that much to it.
