Mollie Tibbetts murdered by illegal alien!

I wonder if illegal immigrants with nothing to look forward to in their own countries don't look at being imprisoned in the US as a great way to survive?
Free food, clothing, lodgings, TV, etc.

Yeah Dems keep rooting for open borders! Keep getting young women killed while they are out jogging!

Elizabeth Warren show's no sympathy and says illegals need MORE rights, and this wouldn't have happened! :palm:

What a disgrace you are to the country!

With a country as large as this one, you could cherry-pick examples to make the case that pretty much any sizable group you care to name is a huge problem. If I wanted to collect examples of guys named "Joe" who have committed murders and other heinous crimes, I could find thousands of them, and find a steady stream of new ones every month. Similarly, I could smear left-handed people, red-heads, Baptists, Hoosiers, veterans, clergy, married women, or any other large group, simply by using the consequences of large numbers to feed the fearful a steady stream of anecdotes. Undocumented immigrants are no different. There are enough of them that it's inevitable some will do terrible things. But, if you look at it statistically, it turns out that undocumented immigrants commit serious crimes at lower rates than native-born people. They make America safer, not more dangerous. Of course, understanding that point means liberating oneself from xenophobia enough to think clearly. Fear is the mind killer.

Stupid SJW response.

there are more then a handful of "angel moms". there are a lot of bad crimes committed by illegals
even 1 murder is way too many since they are preventable with a wall.

Also we don't want illegals - it's a disservice to legal immigrants and the rest of society.
stop defending them and deport the criminals by ICE. Build the wall to keep them out

Since undocumented immigrants commit fewer crimes than native-born Americans, it's likely that any given person is at lower risk of being a victim of violent crime with more undocumented immigrants here than with fewer.

Also we don't want illegals - it's a disservice to legal immigrants and the rest of society.

If you don't want undocumented immigrants, then there are several obvious solutions:

(1) Provide documents to those who have been here for years without committing any serious crimes. That would very quickly reduce the number of of people here illegally by millions.

(2) Greatly boost the number of visas we provide -- fewer people would endure the risks and hardships of coming here illegally if the alternative weren't many years of waiting for a chance to come in legally. This will also help by filling up the economic niches that currently lure people here illegally.

(3) Further liberalize trade with other countries -- to the extent US trade policy creates more job openings in places like Mexico, there will be less pressure for people to leave such places.

(4) End policies designed to keep America agrarian (e.g., policies that provide disproportionate voting power and government spending in rural areas, and that give special subsidies, loans, and the like to farmers). Agricultural work is one of the big draws for migrant labor. The faster we pivot our economy to a focus on high-skill work, the faster we won't have as many low-skill jobs begging undocumented laborers to cross the border.

(5) Change from focusing enforcement efforts against immigrants (who, for the most part, have little to lose, so they're hard to deter) to focusing on illegal employers (who are often wealthy households or business owners, and thus have much to lose and can be deterred). In fact, start to treat the undocumented laborers as allies in enforcing against the illegal employers -- for example, start a green-card program for anyone who agrees to cooperate with the government in tracking down employers who do not insist on required documentation for people they hire. This could even be enhanced by granting citizenship to those undocumented workers whose efforts lead to the conviction of illegal employers.

That certainly would make a lot more sense than building an easily circumvented wall, wouldn't it?

I'm talking lives -not statistics. There have been some brutal killing /drunk drivers/etc.
Then you get gang members like MS-13.. there is absolutely no reason for illegal crossing when a wall would shut that down.

not going to go point by point, but yes a guest worker program ( that kind of VISA) works fine -but the problem is getting them to leave. sanctuary cities ensure they do not get deported even when they commit crimes.
That must end.

I'm all for DACA path to citizenship. But to get that you got give on border security.
Last time we did comprehensive the comprehensive got done -but the wall was never built
thanks to a feckless Congress -so you need dedicated funding

What I've noticed about americans is they run from any and all responsibility whatsoever. All they can manage is blame.
