MN Supreme Court: Bong Water is Class 1 Drug Offense

the long and short of it is that the meth didn't crawl into the water by itself.....

So?

any meth user needs to be locked into rehab for MONTHS in order to break the addiction....going to jail is the best thing that could happen to her and may save her life......

They could hand her a months long prison sentence for minor possession instead of a seven year sentence for 2.5 teaspoons in a "mixture". That law was clearly designed to target drug dealers, not users.

No you miss the point. The state of MN now gets to treat 37 grams of water with trace amounts of meth in it as if it is 37 grams of meth which means the sentence is harsher. I will grant you that in most states it is possession but if you want to get her for possession evaporate out the water and weigh ONLY the meth. Then prosecute her. But the ruling as it stands now is stupid and ONLY stupid people would see this as a well thought out decision.

Supreme Courts make lots of dumb decisions, but now we have this precedence...
