Right because getting the name wrong of the only living Medal of Honor winner that you, yourself, presented wasn't a gaffe of major proportions... or the corpse-man... or when he said his health care plan would create inefficiencies... or when he said that they spoke Austrian in Austria (anybody remember what a big deal it was when Quayle made the "I don't speak Latin" joke?)... Or the "special Olympics" moment?...
We can go on...
While the media doesn't constantly dwell on these language gaffes like they did with Bush, he makes quite a few of them. Many as good as Quayle, except with not as good of a reason.... (Anybody remember the potatoe thing? He was reading a card handed to him by the teacher while doing a spelling bee, he actually handed the card back to the teacher and asked for clarification before then asking for more letters after the kid had spelled it correctly.)
This one is one of my faves: "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
And the Kansas tornado that killed 12 people suddenly killing 10,000.... that was a good one...
But hey... You just go on believing he is perfect, it'll do you good in the next election cycle.
