march 26 2021 MLB Players Association executive director Tony Clark said players are ready to discuss moving the summer's All-Star game out of Atlanta after the state legislature passed an election reform bill restricting voter access, the Boston Globe reported.

The 91st MLB All-Star game is scheduled for the Atlanta Braves' Truist Park on July 13 and they're planning to have full capacity.

“Players are very much aware” of the Georgia voting bill, which places restrictions on voting accessibility that will make it particularly difficult for Black voters to reach the polls, said Tony Clark in an interview with the Globe. “As it relates to the All-Star Game, we have not had a conversation with the league on that issue – if there is an opportunity to, we would look forward to having that conversation.”

There's precedent for moving an all-star game based on enacted legislation. The NBA moved its 2017 game out of Charlotte, North Carolina, following laws that limited anti-discrimination protections for the LGBTQ community.

Georgia has been at the center of the voting rights battle for decades and grassroots organizers have worked tirelessly to make it easier for residents to utilize their constitutional right to vote.

Biased article mentions the constitutional right to vote but there is no such thing.

did you even go to school?

Well if MLB decides to play politics I guess I'll be doing more fishing this year. You would think they would have learned their lesson from the NBA and the NFL. Stay out of politics .

They could liven it up a lot if they injected some violence into it like hockey, football, or even NASCAR (crashes)...

No - they need to speed up the game. A batter should not be allowed to leave the box until he hits the ball, and when there is no one on base the pitcher should be allowed 5 seconds between pitches. Any more and he's charged with a ball.

And no pitching mound conferences and when a new pitcher is brought in , no warmups. That's what the bulllpen is for.

That does not establish a right to vote. It lists reasons for which you cannot be denied a vote and that means there are many other reasons for which the right can be denied. THINK

I see the points here but baseball is governed by unwritten rules and it isn't actually a game more than it is a giant mindfuck. Take that away and no one at all will enjoy it.
