MLB Moves All-Star Game to 80% WHITE city with voter ID laws

Do you know how long it takes to move 150 feet when waiting for hours to vote? 150 feet applies to any solicitation, campaign sign, or any other political activity. Handing out water is now illegal. It has nothing to do with campaigning. Thankfully, many precincts will not prosecute the law.

Yes. I do. I have been an election judge ever since I left the military in 1992. I also know that if you want water from one of those folks you can easily walk back there and get it (if there are folks giving out water there). Folks will save your spot in line. If precincts are not following the law then they set themselves up for claims of voter intimidation, fraud, etc. allowed by the polling judges. 150 feet is not huge, but it can seem so when you are the one to which the intimidation may be applied.

the number one thing I know, you literally thought that I couldn't give you water... I proved you wrong, then you moved the goal posts. Like LV426 you are being dishonest. You know that these laws have a reasonable purpose and exist because historically they protected folks.

"within 150 feet of a polling place"... I copied and pasted more of it earlier, adding context.

By taking it out of context you miss out on the important bit.
Or within 25 feet of someone in line. You forgot that part. Legal scholars agree that this has nothing to do with solicitors of votes. It applies to everyone.

A copy of a utility bill (not the bill itself, something I make a xerox of) is "ID"? I can literally make "identification" and register all over the state without too much effort... I can make something that looks like it was sent to me especially if I get to xerox it afterward... with same day voting the only limit would be how far I was willing to drive to fraudulently vote (zero, I have no interest in voting fraudulently). It really depends on what you call ID.

Also, the only check in CO as to your status as a citizen is a checkmark box on the form. If you don't check it, then you are not allowed to register, if you do nobody can or will ever check to see if you actually are a citizen, as that is illegal...
You're forgetting that this ID is required to receive a ballot in the mail. They will mail it to the address on the bill. What do you gain by falsifying a bill?

Are you an election judge in a precinct that is the only one for 200,000 voters?

I think that being present is the first step in intimidation, I even gave you a historical account of past intimidation tactics folks have used.

First step? So your presence could also NOT be intimidating, then? And the example you gave was very narrow.

The reality is, even you know that in the past there has been voter intimidation practiced at polling places and the reason for these laws.

Right, IN THE PAST.

So if these laws were passed IN THE PAST and according to one of your other posts on this thread "they seem to work", then why change them now?

And again, I really do believe that you are not naive and therefore I really do believe that the only reason you would want this to be allowed is because you would want to ensure you can do it. I will bet that this part of the law is one that will stand, and I also have proven it doesn't do what you originally stated it does.

I haven't said one way or the other...all I've done is question the wisdom of the arbitrary boundaries, and the intent of those seeking to impose them.

Banning water to people waiting hours in a manufactured line, in order to deter people from exercising the franchise after the most secure election in this country's history, screams to the world that Republicans are trying to suppress the vote because they lost.

Hold on a second...your "election judge" story isn't holding to scrutiny.

Less than 80,000 people (3% of all votes cast) voted early in-person in Colorado last year. The early voting period started on 10/19, and according to the SOS for CO, the lion's share of the early vote (75%) came in that first week.

Now, I could be wrong, but I don't recall seeing a single long line in CO once early voting started in either 2016 or 2020, and CO has been using mail-in elections since 2013.

So...what precinct did you work as an election judge at that you saw long lines of people being intimidated? Cuz...not a lot of people vote in person in CO these days.

You know that these laws have a reasonable purpose and exist because historically they protected folks.

The 2020 election was the most secure ever, so these laws do not serve a reasonable purpose because there was no widespread fraud these laws would protect against in 2020.

That's why you will never say that you think the 2020 election was legit; if you admit that, then there goes all your justification for defending these new voting laws.

What scientific method did SCOTUS use to determine whatever that acceptable distance is?

What is the science behind this decision?

And if there is no science behind it, then wouldn't that make it wholly arbitrary?
what science was used to come up with 6 feet social distancing? Now it's 3 feet. that "science" was 100 years old.
Besides SCOTUS doesn't use science, they rule on constitutionality and litigation

we have no way of knowing that one way of the other.
absentees were sent out to virtually everyone with non proof of ID
drop boxes were all over the place -add it up - can you say ballot harvesting?

This law does away with that -makes it all but impossible

So take money away from black owned businesses and workers in Atlanta

And give it to white owned businesses and workers in Denver

That will show um..u care for black America

The black and white businesses of 29 cities did not get the business from the All-Star game. Is Atlanta any worse off than the other 28?

what science was used to come up with 6 feet social distancing?

CDC science and guidelines that they change as more data comes in, like any good scientist does.

Why did you lie about COVID from Jan-Mar last year, and why did you lie about getting an unsolicited mail-in ballot in July?

we have no way of knowing that one way of the other.

Yes we do, the 2020 election was legit, certified by all 50 states.

Do you still think it was stolen? If so, then you're a sucker and as dumb as all the people who insurrected on 1/6.

a Social security card AND 2 proofs of residence if it's the same as Florida ( and I confess I havent looked at this part)

Florida had a secure election, had the results timely -it's ont difficult to do unless you dont want that
Abrams clearly does not -she wants flooding ballots to anyone without an ID

nope the 6 foot rule was arbitrary, there was no science behind- it was 80 year old dogma.
Much the same with lockdowns, only that came from some kids term paper and it's manifest it doesnt stop a pandemic

So you don't like that people dropped their ballots off at a dropbox because you didn't have the chance to fix their vote.

Be honest.
He believes that 'those' people should have to wait on line for hours in order to vote.

Social distancing worked to stop the spread of the virus you said was a hoax for three months before you started blaming China for it.

Yes, it does stop a pandemic because it prevents community spread.

How is it possible that after 15 months of COVID, you're still lying about it?
