Mitt did not pay any taxes for 10 years!

McCain didn't ignore it...he had been a long term Senator and his tax records were already released and known...he released what was needed, two years, to bring disclosure up to date.

You got a cite for this? That's the first I've heard of McCain's taxes being widely known....

We all know you are an ignorant hack who knows nothing but Limbaugh talking points. You really don't need to keep providing proof, thankyou.

So, of course all the tighty whities, or is it tighty righties? Zappa used to always say that, I decided to bring it back. Okay, all the tighty rigthies are even more tense and angry than usual (and that is saying something since their general demeanors are Genghis Kahn-like) have seen all the latest polling and polling trends. I think we all knew that the tax problem was going to hurt Romney, but some of us (ahem, Grind) were in denial. Take a look at this from the CNN poll:

Sixty-four percent of all Americans, and 68% of independents, think Romney favors the rich over the middle class. And 63% of the public thinks Romney should release more tax returns than he has already made public, a figure which rises to 67% among independents.

So refusing to release his tax returns is killing him with independents. Unless Obama makes a serious misstep or Romney comes up with something much more effective than he has so far, Romney cannot win with Independents distrusting and disliking him so much.

And yet he still refuses to release the returns.

And Reid is a liar right? Horseshit! Reid is telling at least part of the truth. My guess is that there is at least one, probably two, possibly more, years in which Romney did not pay taxes (and before SF jumps up and gives himself a heart attack, sorry charlie tax experts have already said it's possible and explained in detail how and all your spittle ain't gonna change that). However, I believe that there is another issue. Hardly anyone noticed that the Romney campaign stated that he had earned "at least 100,000" during the years he claims not to have worked for Bain, and to therefore not be responsible for the layoffs and assorted other horrors which occurred during those years. Why even someone as moderate and fair and balanced as Damo was forced to point out that some of the claims in Gingrich's ads had been "debunked" and were "poppycock". But that (highly questionable anyway) conclusion relies on the claim that Romney, though listed as the CEO, owner and chief bottle washer of Bain during those years, wasn't really any of that! Why he had just no little idea what all was going on over there!

So, what does "at least 100,000 dollars" mean exactly? Well, it could mean 100,010 dollars. It could mean 45 million dollars. And therein lies the rub. I believe Romney was earning millions from Bain during those years, they may even have been funnelled directly into that mysterious 100 million dollar IRA. And once the American people see his compensation, even such stalwart "truth tellers" like politifact will have to reverse course and admit that the ads are 100 PERCENT TRUE.

He can't win if things continue like this, and yet he still won't release his returns. If anyone here wants to buy what SF and others are selling, you're fucking stupid. Don't leave the house alone because I fear you may get into trucks with strangers when they offer you candy, help serial killers look for their cat "I think it's in my basement, sorry the light doesn't work down there" enter a game of three card monte on the street, and buy a Rolex from the inside of some guy's coat in Central Park.

Romney can't release his returns no matter how bad things get, because releasing them would make things worse. And that is all you need to know my friend. That and when someone writes you from Nigeria asking for your help claiming 50 million dollars they have here...don't answer them!
