I guess it's just karma for the worst former senate majority leader in the senate history?!!

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze up in front of reporters for the second time in as many months Wednesday, this time during an event in his home state of Kentucky.

McConnell, 81, was in the middle of a back-and-forth about the prospect of running for another six-year term in 2026 when he became stone-faced in a manner eerily reminiscent of his July 27 episode on Capitol Hill.

“What are my thoughts about what?” McConnell asked.

“Running for re-election in 2026,” a reporter answered.

“Oh,” McConnell exclaimed before his eyes darted upward and he stared blankly into space.

Sad. We all get old, but he becomes irresponsible by failing to resign when he has known cognitive issues.

Nikki is right to ask for mental and physical competency exams of elected officials. I also favor random drug and alcohol testing...and mandatory tests before votes on bills.

Clearly some kind of seizure or aphasia.

Aphasia usually happens suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative). The severity of aphasia depends on a number of things, including the cause and the extent of the brain damage.

The main treatment for aphasia involves treating the condition that causes it, as well as speech and language therapy. The person with aphasia relearns and practices language skills and learns to use other ways to communicate. Family members often participate in the process, helping the person communicate.

Sen. Mitch McConnell appears to freeze again at a Kentucky event
The Republican leader was silent for more than 30 seconds after being asked if he will run for re-election. He froze at a news conference in July.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared to freeze again Wednesday, this time during a gaggle with reporters in Covington, Kentucky, stopping for more than 30 seconds after he was asked if he would run for re-election.

The Kentucky Republican froze in July at a news conference on Capitol Hill, going silent for 19 seconds before being escorted away from the cameras. McConnell, 81, returned shortly afterward and continued his news conference, telling reporters, “I’m fine.”

When it became apparent that McConnell had frozen again Wednesday, an aide went up to him and asked, “Did you hear the question, senator?” McConnell continued to be unresponsive...
