"But let's be absolutely clear: America will not be made great again by those who are content to manage our decline," he added, seemingly paraphrasing Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan. "Let's Make America Great Again" was also a slogan used by Reagan during his 1980 presidential campaign.

McConnell received a standing ovation after his speech, according to Politico.

Outgoing Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. That is the most important part to the article. Trump is rattling NATO member cages to encourage them to live up to their 2% commitments. The days of taking financial advantage of the US are over.

The potential enemies of NATO have to think that our support of NATO is beyond doubt. If there is a doubt, Putin, or some such person, will risk it. The way to peace is through strength, and trump just does not have that.

There isn't much NATO to pull out of. This treaty has pretty well been abandoned by all signatories. Trump isn't pulling out of NATO. Congress can do that, though.
