Missouri campus racism: old ways are the best!

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
Yep, the students at Missouri State University took a page from the 1960's Civil Rights Movement. No riots, no threats of violence. Just hitting the problem where it hurts....in the wallet! An ineffective and somewhat dismissive President and Chancellor were removed from the picture because the football team's black members threatened a strike and boycott.....WITH THE SUPPORT OF THEIR WHITE COACH.

College football is BIG BUCKS....and the season is currently hot!

So racial incidents get addressed by the administration, the team goes back to playing, and the wheels of justice start turning.

Perhaps the lame Occupy Wall St. movement should take note?

And the beat goes on!

Can anyone tell whether or not the Mizzou football team takes the field when it loses either way?

Ha! One of their players was quoted yesterday, off the record, as saying we wouldn't be out here (protesting) if we were 9-0.

Which is not the point, because evidently donations that are in part due to the teams existence seem not deterred by wins or losses. The OP stands valid.

Really? Who? Source? And how does that change the FACT that the protests were valid?

A Missouri Tigers player said Sunday night that the entire team is not united over the decision to stop practicing until grad student Jonathan Butler ends his hunger strike.

"As much as we want to say everyone is united, half the team and coaches -- black and white -- are pissed," the player, who wished to remain anonymous, told ESPN. "If we were 9-0, this wouldn't be happening."

And the 1 million dollar fine, if they refused to take the field for their next game, probably had nothing to do with it either. :palm:
