"Millions of people hated me"

Actions During the Incident: Byrd shot Babbitt as she attempted to climb through a broken window into the Speaker’s Lobby, an area near the House chamber, during the riot. He was stationed in the Speaker’s Lobby, which was barricaded to protect members of Congress and staff. After the shooting, there’s no indication he left the area or evaded responsibility.

After he fires, where's Byrd?

I've looked at it from both sides. Byrd fucked up royally. He had no immediate justification to shoot Babbitt. He knew there were no House members on the floor as he had just come from there earlier. Afterwards, he attempted to justify his actions and avoid consequences just as he did leaving his firearm in a bathroom in a previous fuck up.

The guy skated when he should have been charged.

Murder requires intent.

Does "fleeing the scene" make it MURDER?

What are you even arguing here?

This was a mob situation. If it was a black dude who got shot breaking through a window and looting during a riot, MAGA's would say he shouldn't have been breaking the law.
Yes. An officer fleeing the scene of a shooting is so absurd that there's really nothing available to compare it with. Sources all assume that the officer remains on scene. Byrd fled.

I'd say the same thing about this shooting regardless of who the officer and victim were.

That's an incorrect answer. "Fleeing the scene" - even if he did - does not equate to a murder charge.

You seem to know very little about the law.

No evidence he fled.
Agreed. It's a lie perpetuated by White Nationalists, domestics terrorists, traitors and other enemies of the Constitution.

The officer’s identity had been unknown until Thursday, even after he was internally cleared of wrongdoing. The Capitol Police had declined to identify Byrd, who is Black and went into hiding for months because of death threats and racist threats against him and his family.

Byrd, a 28-year veteran of the force, described how he yelled at rioters to tell them to stop before they entered the Speaker’s Lobby outside the House chamber. Officers had barricaded the doors with furniture and told rioters not to enter, but some smashed glass in the doors and tried to climb through. Babbitt was shot as she tried to climb through the barricaded door.

As Byrd saw it, he was part of the last line of defense between members of Congress and rioters who could harm them.

Byrd was wrong, and fucked up. Simple as that. An incompetent cop doing stupid shit.

Agreed. I should have put "even if he was."

Regardless, any argument that it's "murder" - fleeing or not - is completely absurd.
If Byrd was white and Babbitt was black, would Terry even be making hay about this? No, he would not. His posts are full of the standard White Nationalist BS.

He's an oath-breaker who dishonors his service to our nation. The honorable thing for him to do is to stop pushing this garbage. If he can't stop himself, then the next best thing is for him to take an honorable exit.

It's because he's black, isn't it, Terry? Why do you hate African-Americans so much? Did your ex or daughter marry a man of color, Terry?
No, it's because he's incompetent. He has, in addition, a documented history of fuck ups, and by his own admission expected to get special treatment because of his longevity, rank, and race.

Now with the ad hominem. Run out of bullshit excuses and cherry picking to put forward a reasoned response?
