Militia takes over federal building in Oregon

I thought these were outdoorsmen, you mean they cant survive a winter without the help of civilization?
Probably not. Most critters are either hibernating or have moved south to warmer climates. It would be pretty difficult to hunt for food for over a dozen people and you'd have to roam far afield to find it and then you just might walk into the arms of LE in the process.

In other words if they didn't bring enough food for them to last on a couple of months or plan to re-supply themselves....they have a problem. Who knows, they may have enough local support to re-supply themselves.

You don't think the Feds have that building surrounded? Out of sight but surrounded to prevent anyone from supplying Yall'Queda?

No one can get in or out and what food they have won't last for a month.

Bundy has repeatedly said the group is prepared for the long-haul. However during a tour of the site on earlier in the day, the Guardian was shown a food storage room that did not look like it could sustain a dozen men for more than a few weeks.

It included a cardboard box of apples and oranges, a few dozen pots of instant ramen, 24 cans of chicken noodle soup, a similar number of cans of sweetcorn, peas, beans and chili, and 20 boxes of macaroni and cheese.

There were also three sacks of potatoes, one bag of flour, another of rolled oats, boxes of raisins, a single bag of pretzels and one granola bar.

I bet Bundy gets the granola bar ...LOL

Haven't you seen "The Martian"? They can grow those potato(e)'s indoors.

I have no idea. I doubt it. They probably just need block off any access roads and let winter do it's job. Why surround the place? That would just escalate the situation. We do want to avoid bloodshed after all.

The first judge violated the mandatory minimum sentencing for the conviction. The second judge enforced them. It was conservative legislatures who put mandatory minimum sentencing in place. I thought you conservatives were all in favor of those?

Oh...I get it it....mandatory minimums are only supposed to apply to blacks and latinos. Not white rednecks.

You're using the same retarded logic that classes Tamir Rice as a thug and Ya'llQaeda as patriots.

Do you or do you not understand double Jeopardy go after the first judge these men had already served their first term now you want to send em back. But it's because you hate anything conservative, Christian, or patriotic, and that doesn't bow down to liberal mantra, screw you!

They are using the threat of bloodshed to bully the Government.

I am all for avoiding bloodshed, but I am concerned about appeasing these lunatic men.

You seem to be the one who does not understand double jeopardy. One can be sentenced twice if the first sentencing was illegal. One cannot be tried twice for the same crime.

These guys have a beef with the federal government occupying so much land out west. Which they undeniably do for no good reason.

Note the comparison between this group and BLM or other leftist movements: their beef is actually coherent, whether you agree with their methods or not. Whereas, the BLM is just pissy about who knows what, exactly. If you ever hear them interviewed or when they bum-rush somebodies microphone they go on a verbal tirade or invoke the known lie, Hands Up Don't Shoot, in support of a narrative that only loosely comports with the facts---if at all.

Also, in contrast to the BLM, these guys are on the wrong side of the narrative. The left in general and the Obama administration in particular, have been itching for some white extremists to come along to bolster their rhetoric about the threat of white extremism.

And this is a recipe for some ugliness. What a great opportunity to bolster the white extremist narrative and justify an executive order on gun restrictions at the same time.

Do you realize how much they beef about this, but they are subsidized by the government. It if weren't for the government they could not exist as comfortably, most would all be bankrupt. Private land owners charge cattlemen $20 per head, per month, the Feds charge them $1.20 per head per month, they also take advantage of the predator control program supplied by the government, low small business loans and a feed program. The Bundy's complain, but when push comes to shove, these guys have it good as far as the federal government treatment of them.
