Who cares? Pro Bowl is based on fan voting by the fantasy football obsessed, i.e., those that tend to fixate on the wrong metrics. Mike Alstott made the pro bowl twice as many times and, as a big fan of his, he was not that good.

I agree that Donavan may be a better quarterback .. even Kolb may be better .. but Vick brings something different to the game and the excitement level raises everytime he touches the ball. Both McNabb and Kolb may have better arms, but Vick brings another dimension to the game.

Yeah, dog racing too. But it does not get the same praise as the blue bloods horse racing. And that is what it's really about. Dog fighting, while despicable, is attacked mainly because it's viewed as a "sport" of the poor and minorities.

It's pretty easy to shut Vick down as long as you have decent personnel. The Bucs used to own Vick. He'll beat up lousy teams, like the current Bucs, but what Vick brings is not good for winning consistently at the higher levels of competition.

But should they be? It just means the fans like you.

Alstott was more exciting than most fullbacks, but he did not really play that position because he could not do the boring things that are important to the position, i.e., blocking.

The same thing is true with Vick. He's fun to watch but fails in the mundane parts which are very important to success.
 
Yeah he only won the NC in college and several playoff games including one at Green Bay that no one could see coming.

And you are bound to run into those quality defenses in the playoffs. McNabb owned us, until we beat them in the NFC title game. A lot of it was his backs, but the Falcons had some of the same sort of backs, during Vick's years, that would give our D fits. That is big backs like Staley and Duckett caused trouble for our undersized d line.

vick was not in the Pro Bowl due to his quarterbacking skills. He was there because every game he seemed to break off a great long RUN. His quarterbacking skills SUCK. He has never been very accurate. But he was fast and exciting to watch... thus he got voted into the probowl. He has never thrown for more than 3000 yards (only breaking 2500 once) in any given year. 81.6 was the highest QB rating he ever had. 71 TD passes in his career... 51 INTs. 21 rushing TDs... 55 fumbles...27 fumbles LOST.

Side note... take a look at who the other NFC quarterbacks were when Vick was voted to the Pro Bowl.

Yep. The high number of turnovers are a big problem.

But I hate the QB rating. It's pretty worthless. I appreciate what it is attempting to do, but it fails.

I like you .. but I think you're wrong when it comes to Vick.

I live in Atlanta and I watched nearly every game he played. Had the Falcons had the team they have now, with Micheal Turner and with a seasoned Norwood and a nearly unstopable Tony Gonzalez, they would be unstopable and very exciting.

There is a lot of groaning about the so-called "wildcat offense" and everyone says it's just a fad .. but more and more teams are using it. Vick perfected it, which is why the Falcons led the league in rushing .. but with more seasoning himself AND a better recieving core .. you're looking at the future of football.

I know, I know .. much groaning .. but change always survives through that.
 
you gotta be brain-dead to enjoy watching steriod-pumped dolts with IQ's of 75 run around chasing a ball and stopping every play for 30 seconds. What a stupid fucking sport. It was fun to watch until I turned 15. after that, it was just the same damn thing over and over.

OMG, did you see that guy catch that ball? Never seen anything like it!!

Tools fail big time. Give me wins, Vick is a pure winner. Lots of QB's have supertools stats with more losses than Vick.
From a guy who coached for 15 years and has a son in the wrestling HS hall of fame and a college All American. Their is no such thing as an Ugly win, but plenty losers have pretty statistics.
