Michael Steele let's McConnell (Racist-KY) have it - Take that Turtle Bitch

1) McConnell shouldn't tell Obama to keep his mouth shut

2) there has always been the unwritten rule that ex-Presidents show respect and don't speak out about those in office; so I think Steele's wrong in saying Obama should speak out about what's going on

Anyone who supports Trump...

...and calls someone else "classless"...

...is a fucking moron.

But, we knew that about McConnell...so no big deal.

Okay, I'll give you that.

You wrote: "there has always been the unwritten rule that ex-Presidents show respect and don't speak out about those in office; so I think Steele's wrong in saying Obama should speak out about what's going on."

I think that is total bullshit, ca.

I think EVERY ex-president should be speaking out about what is going on right now. EVERY ONE OF THEM. President Jimmy Carter should be speaking out; President Bill Clinton should be speaking out; President George W. Bush should be speaking out; and President Barack Obama should be speaking out...because Trump is using the office to destroy this country.

ALL of them should be ignoring this "unwritten rule"...and speaking out loudly, clearly, publicly and often.

I addressed this in a later post in the thread but I don't agree with that. The unwritten rule is there for a reason and I don't believe it should be thrown away. We need elder statesmen in the country that are above the fray and that's generally what ex-Presidents offer. Not worth throwing away because some people don't like the current occupant. Because once the unwritten rule is gone...

I don’t know even know what Obama said. I haven’t paid attention. My comment about ex-presidents isn’t something new. They generally stay above the fray which I believe to be a good thing. We need elder statesmen in the country who can offer that (even if they were partisan during their time in office). Throwing that away because of Trump is very short sighted in my opinion.

I’m not aware of what you state in your second paragraph. Never heard that before.

On Obama’s comments;

Presidents staying above the fray;

And in reference to the second paragraph;

Easier than having me explain it

Probably a strange thing to say on a political message board but I honestly don't care. I've tuned out much of what is happening. So I appreciate you offering the links but I'm not even interested in investing the time.

Not following. Who are the rocks?

Surprised you didn't recognize this.. (I hope you have been watching the live feed from church, rather than those old sports highlight reels on ESPN)

Luke 19:40 40"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

I'm not familiar with that. Haha, I guess my Christian credentials should be called into question. (don't tell my wife or Pastor that I've never read the bible)

I said nothing about being offended. What I stated is fact, Presidents have traditionally not spoken about their predecessors while in office..

That is half the story~those sitting presidents, by tradition didn't lie & make shit up & blame their predecessors much either~the rest of the story.....

Feel free to disagree but to me once you change it it's gone. So we have this 250 year tradition that you are willing to throw away because of Trump. I think the tradition and what it stands for and means is more important than Trump.

NO!!! Wait, lets me clear here-IT HAS ALREADY BEEN CHANGED & THAT WAS CHANGED BY TRUMP........ So that is our starting point in the discussion, that stone has already been cast.........

Hopefully the next president can bring some respectability & norms back into our white house & public discourse..

Unless we're talking about two different things Trump isn't out office yet so how can he break tradition of an ex-President speaking out?

Trump fucked up big time in his corona virus response, killed a lot of people too?!!
He needs to be criticize for his inaction and incompetence in this matter, Obama left the orange clown a pandemic playbook, and as we know Trump doesn't read or can't read?!! In short Trump failed to lead?!!

ca...I appreciate and respect your opinion.

HOWEVER...considering what Trump is like and what he is doing...it is my strong opinion that EVERY former president should speak out against this abominable human being. In fact, every retired high official...or retired formerly appointed officials...should be speaking up loudly and clearly.

Trump is a disgusting blight on our Republic.

We're never going to agree on this.

So be it.

?? wtf............. SITTING PRESIDENTS DON'T ATTACK THEIR FUCKIN PREDECESSORS RELENTLESSLY & BLAME THEIR EVERY FAIL ON THEM............

THEY ARE ONLY GOING TO TAKE IT SO LONG........... Hopefully you get it now cause I aint going to repeat it again...........

Obama was good at doing that.
