Pot would not help in any sport... especially boarding. You do not want to be stoned or even on your way to stoned when skiing or boarding. Especially at the speeds the Olympians get up to.
Having skied stoned a few times, I would have to disagree. First, it completely eliminates any nerves associated w/ the pressure. Second, in any sort of freestyle event, it can definitely enhance creativity & add an element of fearlessness to whatever you're attempting.
For any kind of athletics involving endurance, I can also see where it would act as kind of a painkiller, as well (or at least give you a better mindset for ignoring the pain)

I think it depends on what your doing and what your mindset is. if you unfocused and have a lot of anxiety before doing something it prob would benefit you to toke a bit.

First, the 'nerves' argument may work for a recreational skier/boarder, but not so much on the professional. The added benefit would be minimal and would be more than offset by the detraction from focus and coordination.
For endurance events it would be just as bad. Again, you are correct to state that it would dull the pain, but you need to feel your body in endurance events... and again, you don't want the lack of focus that pot gives you. I have run a marathon and completed a lot of century bike rides, that would detract far more from results than the benefit of pain reduction would provide.
The only think I have ever taken Xanax for is long plane rides. That stuff goes through your liver, I wouldn't use it too much. Viagra I don't know about.

xanax rules for plane rides. I dont use it for anything else except the occasional bout of insomnia when im real stressed. Like i said with the viag its got recreational value if you want to be like a porn star for a few days straight.

It obviously will reduce anxiety, but if you are already unfocused... pot is NOT going to help.
i have a friend thats diagnosed adhd and probably also bi-polar tho not diagnosed. If hes not either on pot or on his scrips I cant even hang out with him.
I think it totally depends on the individual. I do believe it is a benefit to certain personalities.

. I was curious after all those Sex in the City episodes and wanted to see if there was something to it. Honestly I didn't like it. However, I LOVED the effects on my partner

Perhaps, but it is not typically going to help a professional athlete. Whole different type of focus required.
Endurance? Potheads are known for not being able to endure much more than the couch and the TV.
I can't imagine wanting to subject myself to pain while high either.
It's drawbacks are too significant to make any slight gain you'd get in other areas worthwhile. I don't have a problem with them testing for it during competitions though. Sports with a long season they should not test for it.

Well on the SATC episode Meg is talking about, it sure appeared to have a big effect on Samantha.
I'm not sure which to give more credence, Chap's vast experience as a woman or a fictional television program.
