Mexico Allows Caravan of Central American immigrants to March to the U.S. Border

Everyone should know that townhall.com is a highly slanted opinion source.

Mexico is like many other nations which must protect their borders. Mexico does engage in border control and spends money to detain and deport undocumented immigrants. The problem is that this is expensive, and Mexico cannot afford to detain and deport all undocumented immigrants, just as the USA cannot do that either.

President Trump alienated Mexico by claiming he would force Mexico to pay for a wall on the US-Mexico border, and making derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants.

Mexico is justified to reason that these migrants are not looking to stay in Mexico. They are likely headed for the USA.

One way Mexico can get back at President Trump (and save money) is to stop detaining and deporting undocumented immigrants.

President Trump has brought this on himself.

Allowing this group to pass through Mexico is one way that Mexico can say: 'Nyah Nyah' to President Trump.

The art of the squeal.

' Normal society ' ? Is that how you view yours ? Which state of Shangri-la do you live in ?

Shangri-la is a campground not far from me. I don't live there, in fact, I've only been there once, but it's a nice, well kept campground.
I live in the state of reality. Maybe you should climb out of your hypocritical shell and get a taste of it, the fresh air would do you good.

this is clear and convincing evidence that Mexico represents a clear and present danger to the sovereignty of the USA. Trump should recall the troops from Afghanistan and deploy them along the border with orders to kill anyone who crosses.

Mothers, babies, people fleeing from drug gang violence, refugees seeking asylum, kidnapped/lost Americans who lost their paperwork trying desperately to get home...

Hello SmarterthanYou,

Mothers, babies, people fleeing from drug gang violence, refugees seeking asylum, kidnapped/lost Americans who lost their paperwork trying desperately to get home...

If all the above is true, then seeking asylum requires presenting themselves to the border guards before crossing, right?

As I am sure you are all aware, there is no caravan of people planning to illegally cross the border.

Anyone remember when the Coyote in Chief Obama sent a delegation of officials to Honduras? He was going to start flying these people in here so they could avoid the trains. All under the guise of migrants & refugees...couldn't dare call them illegal immigrants.

The caravan is a hoax! Everybody knows this!

Seeking asylum actually only requires you be present in the country. You can come in on a tourist visa, use visa free travel, or even just cross the border illegally and claim asylum if you're in sufficient danger.

Refugees are the ones that petition for placement outside of the nation in question. Although the two are often conflated. Refugees are pre-vetted before they enter the nation and are much less of an issue.
