Meryl Streep at Golden Globes

I agree. But it's a tall order. The democrats lost to the biggest jackass who ever ran for president. It's gotta be tough to swallow. They lost to worst guy ever. And Trump is woefully unprepared as Obama described him. Spot on description.

Be honest, did you think Trump was unprepared to win the primaries a year ago? How about the general?

I marvel that people persist in underestimating him.

You're party just got slammed by a political neophyte in the general election [the epitome of domestic politics], and you criticize him for not knowing politics?

Really lol?
I thought that's why all you knuckleheads voted for him, he was an outsider, and he truly is an outsider, not understanding even the basic functions of our government. I bet he he couldn't even pass a citizenship test.

That's how I feel about trump, except I'm not too sure what he's really good at besides self-aggrandizement. His casinos failed, his steaks failed, his travel website failed, his airline failed, his vodka failed, his mortgage company failed, etc. etc.

And he had a lot of successes also. Failure teaches one to succeed.

So true. And if they do, and find out that they do lean right, they'll never hire them again. When is the last time you heard a right leaning actor/actress --- (I know, politically incorrect, right...) state an opinion on an award show. Responses to this post are predictable.

Conservatives loved Eastwood's "empty chair" speech, as I recall.

I say give the man a chance. This country will never know if a business man is indeed a good thing for the country unless we try. He is elected. Lets all get behind the President and see what happens. If it does not work out, there is always another election.

This! Exactly my thoughts. Trump wasn't even on the radar of my list of choices before the country narrowed that choice down for me. Even then, I had no thought that he'd win. But he did. And, like with Bill Clinton, I'm going to see how things go. And there's always another election if the world stands.

Don't forget his scam of a university and his charity!

No one...no one...has said she didn't have a right to her opinion. They've only questioned the appropriateness of the venue.

The only thing I could think about this election cycle was this: With 320 million people in this country, these two are the best we could come up with? I still feel that way.

Yes, really. People on this forum discuss politics with more knowledge and insight than trump does. What other president-elect was so sensitive that he woke up at 3:30AM to get back at his critics publicly?

Where and when did he give that speech? He won some awards in his career. I don't recall him getting political in any of his acceptance speeches. Could have...I really never watch those award shows. But then I certainly never saw anything about it on the news the next day.

You are a wise person. I like that.

He did it at the 2012 republican convention.
