Well, that's your opinion. Mine is that this meme is definitely being used with underlying racial dog whistling by some. It's definitely something everyone should be aware of. Now more people are.

How the fuck are we ever going to have an honest discussion of the tax code if this type of bullshit that she is promoting is the result? It is a pathetic attempt to deflect from reality. It is an assigning of a 'code' by HER. SHE is creating this out of nothing.... and I do mean NOTHING. The bottom 50% demographically is going to fall very close to the total demographics. To suggest this suddenly means that talking about the bottom half is racist 'code' is nothing short of absurd. Only a complete hack would believe such nonsense.

No one even stated that with regards to federal income tax.

We are discussing the FEDERAL INCOME TAX and the percent of the population that ends up paying it in a given year. If you pay $4000 in federal income taxes over the course of the year and you get back $4000 at the end of the year when you file... then you DID NOT pay federal income taxes for that year.

No...I just had to make due with $4,000.00 less than I would have had if I didn't pay any federal taxes during the year like Damo claimed.

Now if that same thing happens each year.... did you have to 'make due' with less? No. Bottom line you did not pay federal income taxes in that scenario. If you don't like HOW it is taken out of your check, that is an issue with the Federal government. Feel free to take it up with them. But Damo is correct to state that 49% don't pay federal income taxes.

Why do I even bother?

Of COURSE you're going to go with which ever choice allows you to demonize those you disagree with...namely the 49% Damo falsely claims pays no federal income taxes...even though you just admitted they do indeed pay federal income taxes.

No one is saying that you are using it as code. She is saying that the very smart people who are paid by representatives of the interests of billionaires, are utilizing this dogwhistle which has always been highly effective with a good portion of white America and which they have no reason to believe won't be again.

The stupidity you are positing is quite frankly amazing. 49% DO NOT PAY FEDERAL INCOME TAXES..... just because they prepay in case they owe doesn't mean they ACTUALLY paid taxes in that given year. Those are not made up numbers, they are FACT. If you prepay and then you get what you pre-paid back, then your net position is ZERO and you will not have paid taxes in that given year. FACT.

There is no choice. I am not demonizing anyone. I am stating a FACT.

Race has always been a driving force in American politics. I've already agreed that whites make up the majority of the bottom 50%, why are we backsliding? Are you becoming angrier as the day goes on?
