First Lady Melania Trump on Thursday tweeted out a photograph of her wearing a hardhat while supposedly overseeing renovations to the White House tennis pavilion.

“I am excited to share the progress of the Tennis Pavillion at [the White House],” she said. “Thank you to the talented team for their hard work and dedication.”

The first lady’s tennis court photo op came at a time when America is still lagging far behind other countries in its response to coronavirus, as the White House admitted earlier in the day that it would not have 2,500 coronavirus test kits ready by the end of the week as it had previously promised.
Given this, many of Melania’s followers had unkind words for her “tone deaf” photo op — check out some reactions below.

I'm certain the only people bitching about Melania being "tone deaf" are a minority of LW talking heads. I see nothing her doing nothing wrong. That work has probably been scheduled for over a year. If Melania canceled the project or put it on hold, the same assholes bitching about tone deafness would start bitching about how heartless she was to put them out of work.

It’s her timing, of course we know First Ladies remodel things, that’s no big deal, it’s just the fact she chose to release the photos at a time when America is worried about an outbreak of a new virus and there had been a tornado in Tennessee that had killed over two dozen people.

It was scheduled far in advance and she was attempting, in my opinion, to reassure Americans that life goes on in spite of loons like you who are trying to panic people.
