Meet Flippi, you new burger flipper and response to high min wage

I didn't lie about what you said. I'm saying that the reason you won't admit that you're Christian is because you can't defend your politics as a Christian. You know that allowing people to die goes against Christianity.

This is lying about what I said, since I said nothing of the sort, and you know it.

So basically, you identify as Christian, but you don't follow your own religion.

I'm not saying automation is a bad thing, quite the opposite. I think it's great that technology is making life easier. However, we need to accept the reality that this will cause more and more unemployment.

Decades ago people like you were lamenting the passing of buggy whips. Has unemployment increased since then?

I'm fine with that, but at some point we're just going to run out of jobs. The Green New Deal is good for now, but eventually the only option will be UBI.

I mean, I think a GND is going to provide a lot of work for a long, long time. There's a ton of stuff that needs to get done and it will take decades to do it all.

Since the GND is a meaningless proposal, logic dictates that any jobs for it's purpose are meaningless.

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: 'The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.'" - 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Not feeding those unwilling to work is perfectly in line with Christianity.

The thing is, automation is accomplishing those same things quicker. Even jobs that still require lots of people now require less people because of computers, the internet, and machines that can do manual tasks.

I literally just said that automation isn't a bad thing.
The buggy whip is a bad example because it was replaced with something that still involved jobs. What's happening now is that things are being replaced with other things that require less jobs.

Someone has to repair and maintain the machines.

Remarkable, yes. Surprising, no.

Indeed. Ironically, earlier a liberal was lamenting the fact the American businesses moved their factories to China to escape high taxes, union demands for unsupportable wages and benefits, and environmental laws that made manufacturing unprofitable in the USA.

Maybe Walt the feces-fondler can learn to do it, after he cleans his hands.

In India, they have people who pickup human feces for almost nothing. I guess the toilet has put those people out of business in the West, and forced them to get much better paying jobs. The alternative would be trying to force people to work for even less than the price of a toilet.

The buggy whip is a perfect example because cars made us more efficient at moving about. For a farmer to get to town for supplies it takes, say, an hour and it used to take all day. Does that mean he makes the trip then sits on his ass watching Oprah for 7 hours?

Do you see where this leads, or do I have to explain further?

Left wingers put those things in place and believe that businesses aren't going to take it.

Isn't that what lefties believed with Obamacare? I guess that's why businesses that could cut to below 50 employees and 30 hours/week.

Walt will likely want a machine to wash his hands for him.

I don't care whether or not someone works. I wouldn't force them to do so. However, I wouldn't provide them with things that come to those that do work.

I mean, how much automation can there really be in the next couple decades when it comes to rebuilding our infrastructure, replacing our electrical grid, cleaning up the environment, nationwide broadband access, weatherproofing buildings, etc.? I think there will probably be some automation, but by and large, this is going to require people power.

You are too lazy to even flip a burger.
