Do not presume to speak for the left. McCain was a reliable right-wing voter. He has voted for Trumpian programs about 85 percent of the time. He is no lefty darling, but a righty. I never hated him. Why would anyone? He was a Repub.. He was for concentration of wealth and power. But he also went through a lot of hell in Vietnam. That does not make me like him or not like him.

The conservatives do not hate him. it is the Trumplestilskins. They follow Trump's lead blindly where ever it leads them.

John Stockwell was a real hero who withstood torture. You probably know that, in his own autobiography, McCain wrote of his shame at receiving special treatment from his captors.

You probably also know that the fire on the U.S.S. Forrestal is widely attributed to McCain. You might also know that he was one of the first to get off the ship. Some say it was because of cowardice, others say that it was because he had to escape his shipmates.

That funeral was an exercise in Trump Derangement Syndrome, live and in color.
