McConnell's triumph leads to radical SCOTUS

And voters need to remember this.

What McConnell did was anti-American, and anti-Constitution. The founders never intended this. Obama had a vacancy on the court, he tried to fill it, and the Senate did not fulfill their duty.

As a result, a one-term failure of a President got to make an inordinate # of court appointments, and shaped the court for a generation. And it's a radical, right-wing court - completely out of step with mainstream America.

I do believe that is the part being most overlooked. If the Supreme Court wasn't hijacked by 1 person and this was the outcome, that is very different.

I would still disagree and be upset but that would be a self-inflicted wound for the country and represent the wi of the voters.

I hate the idea of the Democrats playing dirty by packing the Court or removing the fillabuster but what choice is there? Thomas already said contraception and same sex marriage is next.. if he said that what else does he intend to go after?

Can we afford to wait to find out? The anger has already divided this country to the brink, eventually, this country will go over the cliff.

I just hope we survive.

Would you be satisfied the Senate fulfilled their duty if they had voted against his confirmation? They had the majority.

No. It shouldn't be a partisan vote (and both parties are complicit in that).

People should always ask themselves: is this what the founders envisioned? Borking wasn't. Nor was McConnell's naked power play, which Americans will now have to live with for a generation.

Would it be a partisan vote if a majority did not favor his confirmation? Are you saying they only did their duty if they voted to confirm him?

Elections have consequences.

Following the Constitution is the OPPOSITE of a "RADICAL COURT" DINGBAT.
