While I have never been a fan of trump, to put it mildly & would not shed a tear if he is further dragged down~

I wouldn't think Biden will be all that happy about it.....

It is another trump distraction to his agenda.......

He will be first & foremost their problem......

Any trial in the Senate will be the LEAST of Trump’s problems.
 
The trial will present legal problems that may have to be decided if it can continue. Trump will be out of office. Does the Senate have the power to try a civilian? Who presides? Is Roberts supposed to preside over a trial of an ex-president? There is no precedence. Trump will no longer have the presidential protections. Can they demand he testifies under oath? This is complicated and much is unknown. It will have to be decided before it starts unless the senate can start on Jan. 19th.

Do Democrats plan on re-removing Trump from office? Maybe because Trump wasn’t fully removed after Monday?

And do Democrats EVER stop and consider the potential political ramifications to their actions when it comes to Trump? Wasn’t Trump ‘playing to his base’ one of their favorite criticisms? Well, this is Biden[?] playing to his base, except Biden is AWOL. Where is Biden on this? He doesn’t have an opinion?

Not everyone wants to see the Trump presidency ground into road kill. Only rabid Trump haters want to see that and they aren’t even a majority in their own party. I know it’s difficult to accept, but there were many independent voters who nearly voted for Trump but didn’t. A record number of minorities voted for him. Democrats don’t stop to think for a minute that their bloodlust might make them look a tad vindictive and alienate large numbers of voters they might need in the midterms and beyond?

Where is the leader of your party? Why isn’t he saying things like this?

Be honest, you’d like nothing better than to see Trump brought down. You’re not fooling anyone.

At least one person besides myself sees a problem for Biden in this. This will do nothing for Biden if only because Trump will suck all the air out of the room during the first month of his presidency. As I mentioned before the optics of this are bad—ugly, even. It’s the political equivalent of kicking a man when he’s down so democrats risk engendering sympathy for Trump.

It gives the lie to their claim they want to unite the country. Etc etc. I see no good in it for the country and/or no political benefit in it for Democrats. In fact, all I can see is downside. If Democrat leaders were smart and not riddled with TDS they’d allow Trump to just—go away.

That’s all they whined about for four years and now they finally got their wish. Just move on.

Biden is concentrating on the virus and the economy. He has stated that his DOJ will be an independent agency. What they chose to do will not have anything to do with Biden. Precedent is returning to our government.
