Cops have many times more training than teachers would.

Cops are required to spend time on the shooting range practicing their marksmanship and constantly reviewing gun safety procedures. And even with all that practice and reinforcement of skills and knowledge, they still occasionally make mistakes.

This half-witted proposal to allow or require teachers to carry loaded guns in schools would require them to, on top of their already stretched thin responsibilities outside the classroom, go to target practice on a regular basis and stay honed up on their safety skills.

When they should be concentrating on one thing..... teaching kids.

All the rights'' proposals are weak kneed and full of holes.

The herds scatter and you need a gun that can rapidly shoot them before they scatter. That is why we use an AR as a tool to shoot them before they do tens of thousands of dollars of damage many farmers and ranchers do the same thing feral pigs are a huge problem in many states.

Teachers should train every 6 months with cops and monthly with other teachers and receive a stipend for being a designated emergency defender.. I know several of my high school teachers would have gladly done it. Hell my ex-marine Drafting teacher drove a bus for extra cash. We used to deer hunt together on my family farm. I know he would have gladly have been a designated trained defender for a few extra bucks a month. I know my teacher daughter in law would do it if she were allowed to do it and my son(a North Tarrant County SWAT member) would gladly train her school for free and has told me so. Most teachers can teach and chew gum at the same time. They can teach and learn the skill of self protection at the same time also.

Baloney.

Teachers are already complaining about all the extra responsibility and time they have to spend on their jobs outside the classroom.

Plus, you'd have to have almost every teacher in every school armed.

The weapon would have to remain locked away at all times to prevent kids from getting ahold of them or the teacher from accidentally discharging it.

And of course, even with those safeguards in place, the potential for a student to get a teacher's gun or for a mishap is still a very real danger.

Kids and guns do not belong together or in each other's proximity!!!!

It's a stupid idea and just another lame, concocted, non-solution cobbled together to deflect attention from the real problem.

The problem is TOO MANY GUNS!!!!

IF a protester or a group of protesters were arrested and prosecuted for unlawfully protesting outside a judge's home, and the arrest was made on the requirement in the law that in order to be in violation of it, they must be attempting to sway the judge's decision rather than merely expressing their displeasure over the decision they think might get handed down...
