House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Thursday rejected a claim by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) that Ashli Babbitt was “murdered” by a Capitol Police officer while trying to breach the doors near the House chamber during the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“I think the police officer did his job,” McCarthy said during a news conference when asked if he agrees with Greene’s characterization or if he thinks that the officer did his job when he shot Babbitt as she tried to enter the Speaker’s Lobby through a broken window on that day.

Ashli weighed 100 pounds and was UNARMED. Her crime? - she is alleged to have broken a window!!

Her killer michael byrd deserves life in prison. Mccarthy is crazy to defend him. Byrdie makes derek chauvin look like mother theresa.
 
The police investigated it and found he was doing his job protecting the politicians. He was quickly cleared because it was obvious he was protecting the door between the politicians and insurrectionists.

She was breaking the law, and Trump has done nothing but tell lies about 2020, and everything else. He is responsible for everything that happened on 1/6.

Trump didn't win in a "landslide." He actually lost, and lost by quite a bit. Many Americans went to the polls just to vote against him. He played to the base, ran a terrible campaign and didn't try to broaden his appeal.

He's a loser, who has lost the last 3 elections for Republicans. He wants to lose more for them, too.
