Kudos to you for a great non answer to the question. Do you want to keep troops in Syria? Yes or no.
Let me give you an example. I support Israel's right to kill as many camel fucking, hummus eating, pedophile worshipping muslimes as is humanly possible. But, I don't want to send any troops over there.
So let's try again. Do you wan to put troops in harms way for Syria? I don't. The middle east is a cesspool. Fuck em.
Maybe you want to send your kids over? Do you want to volunteer or are you a Chickenhawk neocon?
I gave you my assessment. We have about 2,000 troops there supporting the SDF. My opinion is to keep them there until there is formal recognition of the Democratic Federation of Syria as an autonomous region of Syria.
"The Syrian Democratic Forces (Arabic: قوات سوريا الديمقراطية, translit. Quwwāt Sūriyā al-Dīmuqrāṭīya, Kurdish: Hêzên Sûriya Demokratîk, Classical Syriac: ܚܝ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܕܣܘܪܝܐ ܕܝܡܩܪܛܝܬܐ, translit. Ḥaylawotho d'Suriya Demoqraṭoyto), commonly abbreviated as SDF, HSD or QSD, is an alliance of Kurdish, Arab and Assyrian/Syriac militias, as well as some smaller Turkmen and Chechen participation[107] in the Syrian Civil War.[108] The SDF is militarily led by the People's Protection Units (YPG), a mostly Kurdish militia.[109] Founded in October 2015, the SDF states its mission as fighting to create a secular, democratic and federal Syria.[citation needed] The updated December 2016 constitution of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria names the SDF as its official defence force.[110]
The primary opponents of the SDF are the various Islamist and Arab nationalist rebel groups involved in the civil war, in particular the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Turkey-backed Syrian opposition groups, al-Qaeda affiliates, and their allies. The SDF has focused primarily on ISIL,[111] successfully driving them from important strategic areas, such as Al-Hawl, Shaddadi, Tishrin Dam, Manbij, al-Tabqah, Tabqa Dam, Baath Dam, and ISIL's former capital of Raqqa.[112][113][114][115][116][117]"

If you like Israel, you should like the Northern Federation.
