Shaken, not stirred!
So here we are again.
Two mass shootings within less than a month of each other in different parts of the country. One in Texas, the other in New York. One in a school, the other in a local supermarket.
One the "good guy with a gun" died valiantly doing his job in defending store patrons. The New York shooter was taken alive, the Texas shooter was killed on site.
Both perpetrators used AR-15 styled weapons that were previously on the 1994 AWB list before the GOP led senate voted to let it expire in 2004. Since then, these weapons have been used by the majority of mass shooters in the last 30 years.
The gun manufacturer flunkies in Congress immediately put forth the narrative that it's a lack of better mental health that is the culprit here, NOT the availability of certain types of weapons.
And yet the Republican governor of Texas had successfully cut the funding for mental health in his state, while lowering the purchase age from 21 to 18 for such weapons.
You can't fully legislate against crazy without become a complete draconian society, but you can implement strategy to limit the effective weapons of choice for these killers, as well as make sure purchases are not used by criminal elements.
The Dems will make noise, people will make noise, but NOBODY will gather on mass and put a stop to this crap but following the examples of Ghandi and King. This is NOT a negotiable issue, as people's lives (i.e., children) are at stake. Until then, accurate and emotional statements by TV celebrities and sports figures will have little effect.
And the band played on.
