Shut up and go charge your toy car on energy made with fossil fuels

Well, the smart thermostats are good for some homeowners that like to control their thermos from remote. But, I have not heard of California shutting down peoples HVAC systems.

But, just shut your WIFI down to get around it. I have WIFI, but I also have a Q-box that delivers ethernet to everywhere I have a TV in the house.

I use WIFI for my security as well, but I could hardwire that as well, if I needed to.

Smart thermostats are tied to the "Internet of things" not your WIFI.

And Hello, ANYONE THERE? How do you think the Smart Thermos connect to the internet?

Through your WIFI of course! :whoa:

That is the way they connect here, I do not know what goes on out there in Tombstone territory, but I suspect the same as here!

A smart thermostat connects to the internet via Wi-Fi and can be managed by another device, such as a phone or tablet. It can automatically adjust to maintain your desired comfort conditions in your home.

Obviously, you are a computer and technology illiterate. Does your "smart" phone connect to the internet via your wifi? No. It can, but it doesn't have to. Same goes for the "Internet of things" that you obviously know nothing about. A smart thermostat can connect like a Ring doorbell, your car, and thousands of other devices, through other means to even include the wiring in your home.

If you think your WIFI is the only way to connect, you are a compete fool

The same crap as
“Oh look at all that winter snow, global warming is a hoax”
They hate facts

Gorebal Warming is a hoax. The whole 'Anthropogenic CO2 is the cause of warming' is utter and complete bullshit. It is focusing on a single case as the only cause and then using it to push a radical Leftist agenda of privation for something like 90% of the population of the world to bring about "equality" and "fairness."

The radical Left is full of shit, you, evince, are full of shit, and Gorebal Warming is full of shit. In the now immortalized words of Elon Musk, Go fuck yourself.

Smart thermostats will be the future every where.

And yes they will allow the power utility, in times of emergency to reduce power flow to certain areas, where the need is low, to ensure the grid does not crash where need is spiking and high.

Derps will fight it arguing they have the right to see others die, to control their own energy needs in emergencies but they will lose, because they are derps.

Or, like hackers today, people like me will simply bypass them with homemade devices if necessary, and keep on trucking regardless of what the government or utilities say...

Which is fine.

The system can handle a small number of ne'er-do-wells who would gladly see people die in Counties on the other end of the State, instead of allowing the system to balance load to keep them alive. As happened in parts of Texas where only certain areas where suffering in the deep freeze and other areas where not, and if they could have better balanced the loads then the systems would not have crashed, in those areas, and the people would not have died.

BUt i say without sarcasm, you would be glad to see them die. I have no doubt of that.

I have no use whatsoever for MTG, but
I like the lights on.
I want to stay up later at night.

I'm just not too concerned with how the power is generated.

If wind and solar will do the trick, that's great by me.

At night when the wind stops where do you think your electricity comes from? Fairy dust?

Not solar power or wind turbines, that's for sure. Where do you think it comes from when the wind stops and the sun is down? It isn't batteries, unless you have home solar and personal battery storage because the power companies don't store energy that way...

Screw you derp. The grid is in trouble because of government regulations. Derp, derp, derp.

The higher percentage of wind and solar the higher instability of the grid. There were hot days last where we dependent on Wind power to supply the power we needed if the wind had stopped we would have been in big trouble. Texas has about 28.6% wind and solar.
