MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Muskegon Heights are investigating after four people were shot early Sunday.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. at East Park Manor in the 600 block of Hovey Street near Dyson Street.

Four men in their late teens were shot, Matt Roberts, the chief trial attorney for the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed to 24 Hour News 8. Two of them were in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Mercy Health Muskegon and Hackley Campus were placed on lockdown after patients were brought into the emergency room, which is standard procedure, according to a spokesperson for the facilities. The lockdown has since been lifted, but “enhanced security” measures remained in place Sunday afternoon, including screening of visitors, and it was not immediately known when they would be rescinded.

Muskegon Heights police are investigating the motive behind the shooting. No suspects have been named and there were not any reports of arrests.

Initial reports indicated three people were shot.

DETROIT — Detroit police say a 44-year-old man was killed and five other people were wounded when shooting broke out at a party at a social hall on the city’s east side.

The shooting happened about 4 a.m. Sunday at the Chalmers Community Hall.

WXYZ-TV says the Knights of the Round Table Van and Truck Club rented the hall for a celebration.

Police spokesman Officer Aram Madeira tells The Detroit News that one of the wounded people was a security guard who was shot as she worked at a neighboring church parking lot.

Madeira says police have three men in custody and says police are trying to learn the circumstances of the shooting.

DES MOINES, Iowa - One person is dead and three others were injured following a shooting outside of a nightclub early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 1:45 a.m., deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Department responded to Evolution Nightclub, located at 4397 NW 6th Drive, on a report of a fight outside the club. When deputies arrived, they heard gunshots coming from an area around the club and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Dashwan Smith, 20, of Des Moines, was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

While investigating the shooting, the Polk County Sheriff's Office learned that three other gunshot wound victims had shown up at local hospitals. Their names and conditions are not being released.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at 515-223-1400.

Sunday morning's homicide is the third in the Des Moines-metro area in a little more than 24 hours.

At 10:30 p.m. Friday, Des Moines Police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of 13th Street and Jefferson Avenue. When police arrived, they found the body of Jose Lopez, 28, of Des Moines. On Saturday night, police announced a 17-year-old has been arrested in the case. Josue Socop, of Des Moines, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Early Saturday morning, Waukee Police responded to the 500 block of Southeast Carefree Lane at about 1:30 a.m.. Police found Gino Risola, 41, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Risola was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. Brendan McGuinness, 42, was arrested Saturday afternoon in connection with the case. He's been charged with first-degree murder.

Davenport police are investigating an early morning shooting incident that left five people wounded.

Police officers responded to both Genesis West and East campuses about 5:20 a.m., Friday, in response to multiple subjects with gunshot wounds.

Upon investigation officers located the scene of the shooting in the south alley of is 917 W 3rd St.

A total of five individuals were struck. All wounds are non-life threatening.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

If anyone has information reference this incident they are encouraged to call the Davenport Police Department.

All those wounded were around 18 to 20 years old. They were treated for minor gunshot wounds and released from the hospital.

Warren Police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday morning at a hall on 8 Mile near Schoenherr.

According to police, there were close to 150 people at Detroit’s Finest when an altercation broke out about 2 a.m.

Management escorted the parties out to the parking lot where gunfire was exchange between occupants of two vehicles, according to a police news release.

Four people were struck.

Three of the injured were taken to a local hospital, two are in critical condition. The fourth person received a minor injury and was treated by Detroit EMS .

The investigation is ongoing.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The quiet morning was broken by the sound of gunfire early Friday morning. Police say the incident happened in the area of 3rd and Warren Streets.

Around 5:20 a.m., officers responded to Genesis West and Genesis East in reference to multiple people arriving with gunshot wounds. Officers investigated and located the scene of the shooting in the south alley of 917 W 3rd St.

Police say five people were hit by gunshots, all non-life threatening.

An anonymous resident in the neighborhood tells KWQC the shootings took place earlier that morning.

“I went back in about 4:10 in the morning. There was nothing, but you could hear the shots. I heard five, six shots and they were loud.” Neighbors think the motive is drug-related.
