Many people from LA have compared Obama's response to Bush's

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, so it's about the comparison of deaths, the numbers displace, and the overall cost that determines when a President should take action.

I'm sure the people in Louisiana agree with you. :good4u:

Well, all that government housing in the 9th ward got flooded in Katrina so there's that too lol.

Well, it would be cool if you could find a post of me criticizing Bush for not visiting LA during Katrina.

My criticism was reserved for how inept the fed response was under his so-called "leadership."

Well.....lets review a little history....not history according to Thingy, but real history

Katrina made landfall at 1110 UTC on August 29 as a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 125 mph (200 km/h) near Buras-Triumph, Louisiana.
Bush overflew the devastated area from Air Force One on D.C., August 31

Bush was criticized for not returning to Washington, D.C. from his vacation in Texas until after Wednesday afternoon, more than a day after the hurricane hit on Monday....(read that again, 1 fuckin' day after the storm)

On August 28, Alabama Governor Bob Riley declared a state of emergency for the approaching Hurricane Katrina. On the same day, he requested President Bush to declare "expedited major disaster declaration" for six counties of south Alabama, which was quickly approved. Three-hundred and fifty national guardsmen were called on duty by August 30 .....also 1 day after the governor declared a state of emergency in Alabama....Note...the Governor must declare an emergence and ask the federal
gov. for assistance.....this governor had the brains to anticipate the storms damage ....but not the Dems in La.....

The bitching was because Bush wasn't on the ground in LA....wtf ?......to what purpose must he be ON THE GROUND....

The reality is.....Bush could see the devastation caused by Katrina from the air..,completely, in one big scene of the entire city....from the ground, he'd be lucky to see a few hundred yards from where he stood.....so that argument was total bullshit....manufactured by the media and Democrats....

Louisiana flood: Worst US disaster since Hurricane Sandy

Yes, yes I do want to compare facts. You are full of bullshit. The Louisiana flood has killed 13 people. The mudslide of 2014 near Oso, Washingtion killed 49 people. President Obama showed up at the Oso disaster site exactly one month after the tragedy.

“The current flooding in Louisiana is the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy,” Brad Kieserman, vice president for disaster services operations and logistics for the Red Cross, said in a statement. “The Red Cross is mounting a massive relief operation, which we anticipate will cost at least $30 million and that number may grow as we learn more about the scope and magnitude of the devastation.”

The toll of Katrina is $108 billion dollars, one million displaced, and well over 1,200 dead.
If the Louisiana flood with 7,000 in shelters is your idea of Obama malfeasance for not visiting, then why is he scheduled to visit next Tuesday on the 23rd of August, just 11 days after the disaster?

By your stupid logic....49 dead, he visits one month after the fact....

with only a measly 13 dead in LA floods, he might as well wait for about 3 or 4 months to visit if thats how you measure compassion.........

Your argument is the height of stupidity.......the number of people killed is irrelevant......and who knew, one or two days after Katrina how many were lost to the storm....and who can be absolutely sure that only 14 were lost in the floods....they might be finding people weeks from now......

Regardless.....Bush personally responded with a couple of days.....Obama has yet to personally respond after a week....and dems the facts.

You know that "dems" and "facts" don't mix. :D
