manbaby runs from the rain, cancels WW1 memorial site visit

Donald Trump cancelled his visit to a First World War cemetery, where hundreds of American troops are buried, due to rainy weather in northern France.

The US president was due to pay tribute to the Americans who sacrificed their lives in the Great War 100 years after the conflict's end.

But the White House announced that Trump, 72, and wife Melania, 48, would not fly to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial in Belleau by helicopter.

It said their appearance at the military cemetery, north-east of Paris, had been cancelled due to poor weather and an American delegation would take their place.

You Democrats can try impeaching him for it. Good luck.

Our president belonged at such an important ceremony.
But I support the decision-maker in avoiding flying our president in perilous conditions.

If a fault was committed here, it may have been in opting to quarter President Trump a reported 100 miles from the event location.

Yes indeed.
Most of my attempts are successful. Thanks for your acknowledgement.

NBC-TV news reported this evening that more than 80 world leaders attended. So the weather kept Trump away, but 80 others were able to attend? That doesn't look good for the U.S.

Yes. Both the white house COS, and JCS chairman attended in our president's stead. That's fine. But it doesn't explain why over 80 other world leaders were able to attend, but our president was not.

I consider that poor planning.

BUT !!

I resolutely stand by my original position: "discretion the better part of valor." Ciscero

80 other world leaders went to the ceremony. Trump is still having a tantrum that started on Thursday.

It would be another matter, I expect, if he were asked to visit German war graves. Blood is thicker than water, and no-one is thicker than trump.
