Want to see the carjacking slow to a crawl? All records made public to the jury in a courtroom. As for the no bail concept. Mandatory bail for specific crimes and a minimum sentence of, say five years with no plea bargaining for crimes with a firearm regardless of age.

You thought I was saying to publish the records in the media before trial? No way. In this country, there are hundreds of carjackings per day mostly committed by kids under 17 years old. They are immediately released and there are no consequences so they go out sometimes that same day and do it again.
In my world, these thugs when caught get locked up UNTIL trial and when sent before the judge, the prosecutor is allowed to show the jury that this little asshole has been arrested X times previously.
The alternative that is now starting to appear, is when confronted with a thug holding a pistol sideways, the victim takes charge and the perp eats a bullet or two or three.
Either way, that makes the street just a little bit safer.
