male privilege?

Actually you'd be surprised at how unhealthy a desk job is. If you can avoid a debilitating injury on a career in construction and avoid unhealthy personal habits like smoking, alcoholism, heroin or marriage, you'll be healthier and live longer than a person who sits at a desk all day. Particularly since many desk jobs also have high levels of stress.

We hear about deaths at construction sites. Millions of people work each day in office buildings and we rarely hear about deaths caused by a dropped pencil in a cube or something. Not to say illnesses aren't caused by office environments but not exactly the same as being 50 stories up in the air on a beam.

It is amazing how many women work in construction in Thailand and Vietnam. I have never seen a woman steel fixer aka rod buster in the UK but there are many over there.

I assumed he was talking about construction jobs. Like building (high rise) condos and office towers.
Hell I don't a whole lot of men who want to do that either. You ever been up on a high rise project? You couldn't pay me enough to work on one. Un uh...no way. Takes a special breed to do that.

absolutel not but a colleague of mine who was the same age as me and worked as a database administrator died from a stroke last week. I have no doubt the stress from his work was a huge contributing factor and those don't get reported.

There are also studies about sitting all day having a bad effect on the body, and how you're supposed to get up and move around every hour or so.

I've seen quite a few here over the years working on large concrete pours. Women tend to be a lot better at men at tying rebar. They may not be as strong as there male counterparts but can tie that shit faster then I can type about it. Seen quite a few working as heavy equipment operators. That's one job where it doesn't matter what your gender is. You've either got it or you don't.

Another example of Numbers not lying but liar's figuring. The product of any calculation is only as good as the data that is feed into the formula. Example. The nonsense about Male/Female wage inequality when working in the same field of expertise...with all things being equal, the numbers suggest that "males" make on average up to 30% more GROSS INCOME for the same type of work/skill/trade...etc. The exaggerated income equality usually is the result of the TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS actually worked per year.

Take for instance this "exaggerated" comparison from the Federal Government in the area of Medicare payments to both male and female physicians. At first glance it appears that something is "UNFAIR". Just from Medicare payments alone the Male Physician earns an estimated 119 K per year....while a Female Physician with the same degree earns almost half that figure, an estimated 63 K per year. This is the type of data used by many to shout, "income inequality".....when the actual data shows why the male earns almost twice what the female earns....it turns out as evidenced by the actual data...the MALE Doctors see almost 60% more patients than do the females.

If this type of data is used in one field....its only COMMON SENSE to suggest the same type of FLAWED formulation is being used across the board...with all things being equal EXCEPT THE DATA that determines PRODUCTION "ACTUAL". Who would argue against the more productive entity getting the most benefit from their personal labor? Those with a political objective of income redistribution under the guise of SOCIAL JUSTICE.

Has anyone ever...ever...actually seen a completely and totally "satisfied" LIBERAL...in any field of endeavor? The Proverbial "happy" liberal? Of course not...they are happiest when they are bitching and complaining in relation to being envious over what their neighbors might or might not have that they do not possess.....always walking around like someone pissed in their cornflakes. When you do see a happy, well adjusted Liberal who is attempting to pat someone other than themselves on the back....be careful they are simply looking for the SOFT SPOT when the STABBING becomes opportune....when they assume they are much to smart to get caught....as everyone knows, its always the fault of the victim.
