'Malaria, the Movie' barely outperforms a 2010 documentary about Paleolithic cave paintings. These people call themselves capitalists?

'Malaria, the Movie'
Box Office gross, estimated: ~$16 million
Production and marketing cost: $75 million

'Cave of Forgotten Dreams'
Box Office gross: $12.1 million (inflation adjusted to 2026 dollars)

Capitalists lose money some time you dimwitted pinhead. In a leftist world though people would be required to go see a similar movie but that one would be called Michael. As much as it kills you people freedom is still a thing around here.

Capitalists also have the ability to assess risk. I could have told you months ago that a meaningless vanity project of Malaria picking out dishes, flowers, and evening wear for the inauguration gala would never recoup an investment of $75 million.
And?

Any you, Melania, and Donald don't believe in capitalism. You believe in corruption, cronyism, meaningless vanity projects. You believe in losing money for investors for the sake of vanity.
You seem to believe in whiny ass threads

Do you think a vanity project movie that cost $75 million to make but only recouped $16 million in sales was an easily foreseeable disaster by any reasonably savvy capitalist?
I have no idea and I don't really give a shit if my money wasn't used to make it. This whole thread is nothing but a masturbatory endeavor for you

But... but.... @TOP and others were celebrating the few bulk buys, while ignoring the empty theaters as those tickets could not even be given away free, as some form of success.

they also are predicting this docu-fraud will win awards this season.

and it is not because they are cultists that they are so deluded :rofl2:

You'll be okay... Not everyone likes every movie....

In Hollywood, a successful movie is generally expected to have an ROI at least 2X it's production costs.

'Malaria' needed to make at least $80 million to be a successful movie, but is on track to gross less than $20 million. A massive loss for investors.

The moral of the story in that MAGA morons love cronyism, grift, and vanity projects; they don't have any interest in capitalism and the free market.

True. Not a business guy, but it seems Bezos' investment is a "loss leader" for future massive gains due to Trump's giving him billions in government contracts.

Ergo, I suspect Bezos would have spent twice as much in graft to the Trumps and advertising, including buying up tickets with empty seats, as a means to garner billions in future government contracts.

So Malaria's vanity project is a bribe, which is cronyism not free market capitalism.
