Malania Trump's speech stolen from Michelle's word for word.

He stopped leading in and eventually lost the 1988 presidential primary? Do you know anything?

1988? I voted for the first time in 92.

I will have to look this up and read about it, I wonder if Biden could have beat Bush if he had been the nominee? Anyway sounds interesting for something that happened long ago, thanks Watermark, I'm going to read about it.

Look, I'd basically agree w/ you if the campaign had 'fessed up, blamed the writer & moved on. They did not.

What does that say about the campaign? I mean, the sections that they plagiarized were about values. And they decide to dig in & openly lie about what happened?

Not surprising at all that you're defending it. Predictable hackery from the "objective" guy.

You're the one who claims to be objective. Your focus on this is far from objective.

Yeh I know that he plagiarised a Neil Kinnock speech and dropped out shortly after for various reasons not just that. I also know that Obama plagiarised a Devsl Patrick speech!

Obama also plagiarised a speech by Deval Patrick.

IN an introduction address to the nation, then later claim he did not that they were just common words?

Michelle Obama: “…the world as it should be.” In 2008, the aspiring First Lady was accused by bloggers of lifting lines for her DNC speech from Saul Alinsky. Alinsky wrote, in Rules for Radicals (emphasis added): “The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be.” Michelle Obama said: “And Barack stood up that day, and he spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about ‘the world as it is‘ and ‘the world as it should be.'” (Perhaps Mr. Obama who left out the attribution.)

Don't tell me words don't matter. "I have a dream." Just words? "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Just words? "We have nothing to fear but fear itself"—just words? Just speeches?

… and now, Patrick on the stump in 2006:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Just words—just words! "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." Just words! "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Just words! "I have a dream." Just words!
