Make Schools More Human

The pandemic is giving us an opportunity to make a pivot that we should have made long ago. We have been on a treadmill of short-term fixes, pretending that if we just get the right test, the right incentives, put the right pressure on teachers and students, they will achieve what is good for them, like it or not.

But we are realizing what we should have known all along: that you can’t widget your way to powerful learning, that relationships are critical for learning, that students’ interests need to be stimulated and their selves need to be recognized.

How did the education genius Betsy DeVos not fix everything with four years of her enlightened leadership?
Everybody who voted for her confirmation should be boiled in oil.

Wrong, artists have a lot of spatial ability, perceptive ability & creativity.

Schizophrenic spectrum especially Schizoaffective can be depressed & suicidal.

Do you understand what non sequitur means, Witold? Can you apply it to my comments about intelligence vs. talent?

You claimed I was wrong then you posted about "spatial ability, perceptive ability & creativity". Those are traits, talents. Some people have them, some don't. There's no gene for it, probably a combination thing coupled with environment. The world's biggest dumbass could also be the world's greatest singer or painter. That is often proven by fact. The stupidity is in those who believe a person's success in one area means they are successful in all areas . This is often wrong.

Intelligence and talent often go hand in hand. A smart and talented singer will be more successful than a less intelligent but equally talented singer simply because the smarter one is better able to understand business, accounting sheets, advertising, fucking lawyers, etc, etc.

The smartness and the talent have nothing to do with each other. Just because a person has a degree and/or has a lot of money doesn't mean they are smart. Believe me, I've met plenty who weren't and I often thought they might be selling cocaine on the side because they were so fucking stupid to have been in a success in their claimed fields.

My best advice is to live life without regret. Do what you want to do when you want to do it as a starting point. Now figure out how you are going to do it. Be smart about it. Have a plan, consult others for advice. Whatever happens, if you are honest with yourself, you'll find a measure of success. There's a difference between being the best in one's field and being the richest in one's field. It's nice to have both, but I prefer being the best..with a little money to tide me over. ;)

Make schools more inhumane
Assgendering
Free condoms
Free abortions

Blessin’s

Sex education and easily available contraception cuts abortion way down. You should be pushing it. It also cuts down on children in the demographic group Repubs hate. You would think they would be vigorous in backing that.
