Mail-order abortion pill sales are surging in red states

I'm not sure that a state has the authority to meddle with the U.S. mail. The USPS sure doesn't have the personnel to be checking letters and small pkgs for "contraband," either.

Is it meddling to have someone resend mail with the permission of the lawful recipient?

It’ll be interesting to see how much money the Republicans want to spend on abortion pill sniffing dogs. LOL

Not a fucking lawyer, but wouldn’t they have to prove the pills were taken in a state subjugating women and banning abortion? All the woman would have to do is show a bus ticket or other evidence they were out of state at the time. Sure, the oppressors would still prosecute but the appeals would reach likely overturn the initial verdict.

Not every state or court would be packed with tyrants.

What will happen is if a woman who has taken the medication has adverse effects, and fears prosecution if she goes to the ER, she won't seek treatment. We'll have people dying again like before Roe v Wade. "That'll teach those sluts." -- Reichwing Xtian Forced-Birthers.

Its funny to watch these bazar looking abortion activist screaming "my body my choice" as if someone would expose them to a chance of pregnancy.

Funnier still is how the Pedo Party claims they support the freedom of Americans while they are clamping down on the rights of the non-white, non-male, non-elite Americans who constitute the majority of American citizens.

May they all burn in Hell.

Resending mail is perfectly legal. In fact, we can look for little outfits to start up in free states who will order the meds for those in slave states, repackage them, and send them to the buyers. How can the slave states stop that? Block Internet access to all women of child-bearing age?

This whole thing just smells of “big brother”

Which is exactly what I previously proposed.

No doubt the Pedo Party will push for spying on all women in red states to prevent such activity. They truly are authoritarians who hate American ideals.

Hello guno,

Several Republican lawmakers have made attempts to prohibit the abortion pills from being shipped or prescribed, however, some people are finding ways around that by ordering the pills online "from overseas pharmacies that can't be reached by U.S. laws," the Post reports. It's a five-day dosage of tablets that typically comes in an "unassuming envelope," which makes it hard to patrol. These nondescript shipments "will probably become another front in the battle over abortion rights," says the Post.

"Mailed pills are hard to police," Temple Law School's Rachel Rebouche said, but "[t]hat has not stopped [states] from trying." Experts believe more people will turn to those online sources if abortion rights are overturned.

In 2000 the Food and Drug Administration approved mifepristone, taken along with misoprostol, to induce what is essentially a miscarriage, explains the Post. It's approved as safe and effective for use up to 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Advocates say residents of Texas and several other states with strict policies on abortions "have already helped fuel the boom in medication abortions, as patients seek alternatives to surgical abortions at a clinic."

The poor Christian right. They finally get what they want and it's anti-climatic because there is a work-around to their attempts to control the lives of others.

It isn't my idea but I like it.

Biden should install abortion clinics at every military base in the country.
Those installations are not subject to state law. He's the commander in chief.
Anybody who interfered with the women going there could be shot dead on the spot.

The dead crackers would just be a bonus.

Plan B must be taken within 72 hours. It’s not an abortion pill. If one has sex regularly, then a woman should use contraceptives.

Even then, contraceptives are not 100%. A woman can find herself pregnant even if using them. Banning abortion will adversely affect middle-class families across America.

In first 5 sentences.....moot points with agreements.

Last sentence ... amend to read ".... middle, lower middle, working class and poor families:

It’s from the Plan B brochure.

Agreed but it’s middle class with the higher voter turnout. https://www.census.gov/newsroom/pre...ng-and-registration-tables-now-available.html
Voter turnout was highest among those ages 65 to 74 at 76.0%, while the percentage was lowest among those ages 18 to 24 at 51.4%. Overall, voter turnout increased as age increased, with the exception of 75-plus which had a turnout rate that was below 65-74 year-olds and not significantly different than the turnout for 55 to 64 year-olds. High school graduate turnout was 55.5%, while turnout for those with a bachelor’s degree was 77.9%. Overall, voter turnout increased as income increased, with the exception of those in the income ranges $10,000-$14,999 and $15,000-$19,999, which had turnouts that were not significantly different. For people whose income was $100,000-$149,999, turnout was 81.0%, while for people whose income was $30,000-$39,999, turnout was 63.6%.

George Carlin said the very same thing about people who think just like you.

If you are going to go quoting the late much lamented George Carlin then allow me to quote him as well!

"Political correctness is America's newest form of intolerance, and it is especially pernicious because it comes disguised as tolerance. It presents itself as fairness, yet attempts to restrict and control people's language with strict codes and rigid rules. I'm not sure that's the way to fight discrimination. I'm not sure silencing people or forcing them to alter their speech is the best method for solving problems that go much deeper than speech."
