One could counter that Republicans feel like they can't win when more people vote, so it's better to limit the # of people who vote.

It seems more likely they think they would win more often if there wasn't a voting season, rather than an election day, with a body of folks that tend to follow the rules. While they understand the opposition has no issue with vote harvesting, collecting ballots at old folks homes after "helping them" fill out their ballots, running voter registration booths without the party tag and tossing the ones that aren't registering as Democrats and, finally, who actively oppose any measure that may stop non-citizens from voting which has no purpose other than to ensure that they get the vote from non-citizens.

Trumps and Magats are REFUSING to include in 'Real ID' forms of ID that they find are most used by Dem voters even when States say they will ensure they meet the qualifications that Hunters License and the other forms of 'accepted ID' meet.

Why?

Answer : Because this is not about making sure people have 'real ID' or they would allow State Universities to update their Student ID's to those standards and then accept them and THEY REFUSE to allow that.

1. You apply for an application to get mailed ballots
2. The info on the applications is identical to what you have to show when you registered.
3. Your app is checked against your voter registration, INCLUDING YOUR SIGNATURE.S
4. You're notified if approved.
6. You receive your ballot before the election. Here, it's 30 days before.
7. You fill it out, put it in the privacy envelope, and put that into the return envelope.
8. You sign the OUTSIDE of the return envelope.
9. You can then log in later to check if your ballot was received and approved.
10. If there's a problem -- no sig, sig doesn't match what they have on file, etc. you are given a chance to perfect the ballot by showing up in person to fix the error. If you don't, it's discarded.

In this state you have to show photo ID, driver's license/passport, and proof of residency in order to register in the first place.

Photo ID should be required to vote. Not just to register.
Proof of citizenship and photo ID should be required to register.
Mass mail-in voting is rife with fraud opportunity. It should not be allowed.

Magats are refusing all sorts of forms of ID, even if States require they meet verification qualifications, if they know those ID's (Tribal, Student, etc) simply because they know they are the easier ones that Dem voters tend to get while they say 'hunting licenses are ok' as they know those tend to be more for magat voters.

So the game, which the left is correct to reject, is to make things harder and harder and more work for Dems to vote while making it easier for Magats as we all know the more you make people, the more a certain percent will just not do it. And in close elections dissuading even a few percent can matter.

If Magats were pushing FAIR rules for all, which allowed Student, Tribal ID's and married women with changed names, etc the same EASY access to ID as a hunter gets, then it would be supported.

Also why do Magats refuse to allow people to be automatically registered to vote once they have obtained an ID? Why require a separate process? Again it is not because they are trying to improve voting and are trying to dissuade people from voting.

When States offer ways to get more citizens the proper verified ID and it is refused simply because "dems would use that more to get properly verified', that is exactly a game that anyone not poorly educated would recognize.

You need look no further than Trump demanding Obama prove he was a citizen. Over and over he demanded Obama provide proof not saying he was not but that magats needed to see proof so they could 'trust'. 'Show proof... show proof... show proof'.

So then despite the insult and racism of the demand Obama shows proof in the form of his Hawaian birth certificate and INSTANTLY Trump and the magats say they do not 'trust' that.

So we can ignore this GAME and LIE from Magats that if we do 'X' that will make them 'trust', as it WILL NOT. They will then just switch to why they now do not trust, for another reason.
