Magic Mormon Underwear

Yeah, I can see that. However, I don't see why I would need to try to convince them to change their minds... or why I would vote for somebody with policies entirely at odds with mine based on the "weirdness" of the religion.

Many religions have odd little pieces to them, does that mean those people who believe in them are invalid?

Mormonism is a huge corporation masquerading as a religion, it is no different to Scientology in that respect!!

Ahh the voting for thing.
That depends on whether they can keep their religion out of their job or not.
This not only applies to mormamism but all religions.

And of course whether I think they can do a good job in the elected position or not.

Religion aside I think both current presidential candidates are trouble for my country.

This upcoming election is like a toilet bowl. NO matter which one wins we all lose.

Mormonism is a cult and a business combined, would you vote for a Scientologist? Actually you probably would as you are so deperate to get rid of Obama.

you must not read my posts. I want Obama to own the next four years. I want to see him blame Bush another four years

You've gotta admit, you've taken a somewhat contradictory position on religion. On the original "bigot" thread, you were upset about some trying to paint Mormonism as "weird," but here you are saying that all religions are basically weird.

It's just a little hard to follow. Is it okay to say one is weird, as long as you include the rest?

I never tried to paint Mormonism as wierd, I simply stated (or maybe mistated) something about Mormons, that some Mormon friends told me was true, they still say its true.

Now that Damocles presented (some) evidence to the contrary I do not have a position as to if its true or not. But that is not bigotry, at the worst its ignorance.

He simply got upset by the political portion of my statement and decided to engage in name calling, and now has dug himself into a hole. It would be easier for him to admit his mistake and apologise, but his ego will not allow it.

Actually, I called him a bigot for quite literally lying about the religion as a basis for why he thought it was "weird"...

Much like here. There is a inference that all "Mormons" wear these garments, while I posted earlier in that same thread an explanation of who wears these and why... Now, knowing that if you continue to say they are all "weird" because they all wear "magic underwear" then I would happily tell you that you were a bigot.

In that particular thread you are talking about he didn't claim they were "weird" he made a false claim about their beliefs. First I called the story a bigoted hit piece for spreading a falsehood, and explained what was false, then later I called the author of the thread, who continued to promote the false claim even after he had learned the truth, a bigot. Not for calling them "weird"...

It wasn't calling it "weird" it was flat spreading falsehoods in order to "paint" somebody in what they believed would be seen as negative that was bigoted.

1) You did not call the story bigoted, you called me a bigot, from the first reply to the thread.
2) I did not continue to promote false claims, I simply stated where I heard it.
3) Are you now claiming that calling something "weird" is not painting it as a negative?

On this issue, you, a generally very logical person has allowed your ego to carry you very far out on a limb of fragile logic.

Interesting. Don't you claim to be a Christian?

Christianity has a bloody history, but modern Christians are much more peaceful than your run of the mill Muslim. That's because the only language the Muslim understands is coercion.

So you are denying that the US killed 100,000 or more people in the last 11 years? That we continue to kill people using all manner of justification? Innocent people who just happen to be near a possible "enemy combatent" when the drones strike?
You sir, are quite delusional.
