People with businesses and large families can save a lot of money with either Costco or Sam's Club.
Personally, I don't need a 6 lb pack of peanut butter or can of green beans. Buying a 1 lb jar of peanut butter or a couple cans of green beans is enough for my wife and myself.
Sam's Club is having a half-off sale of membership: $25 vs. $50. Costco is $40 to $60. Although they have good deals, balancing the cost of membership, the 2-hour roundtrip drive to an outlet and the sizes of the products doesn't work for me.

Costco would have been a great place to shop when all my kids were still at home, but there wasn't one in the area then. There's none up here, either; the closest is in Green Bay. We do have a Gordon's Food Service here though, so if you do need mass quantities or something, or gigantic cuts of meat, or mass quantities of paper products, they're open to everyone, not just restaurants. For folks who entertain large groups they offer prepared foods in huge amounts, too. Like mac & cheese, desserts, lasagna/other pastas, and so on. Plus it's small and easy to find stuff there. We buy their spices/herbs in the large containers to make our own rubs and sauces.
