They are weak to begin with or they wouldn't be Reichwingers. Weak men like their Orange Jesus feel more powerful when they can dominate someone even weaker, like a child or an unsophisticated young man or woman. Many of them were molested as kids themselves and are repeating the pattern. The rationale goes something like "I was abused by my Boy Scout leader and *I* turned out okay so there's no harm in it."
