Palestinians, Russians, North Koreans, Iranians all live in fear of rising up. I hope they will as well, but I have sympathy for why they don’t.

Agreed fear is part of it but please consider this: Would you really want your family to be subjected to a brutal dictatorship for the rest of their lives when you had the chance to fight against it for them? I doubt you would want that for them. If parents aren't willing to fight for freedom for their children, then they aren't ready for freedom.

IMO, too many Americans take our freedom for granted which is why they are so willing to throw it away for political expediency. Democracy needs to be protected, not abused as too many on this forum are willing to do for the sake of "getting their way".

The increasing lack of tolerance among Americans is evidence of people willing to give up democracy and freedom for the false perception of control through an authoritarian government.

I have absolutely no idea how I would react. I protest issues here at home, but it’s without fear of harm coming to me and mine. I would never wish to endanger my friends and family, unless it was their wish as well.

You wouldn't join a resistance? Become part of an underground railroad for political dissidents or Muslim families being hunted by Trump's Sturmabteilung? Being part of the resistance doesn't mean you have to become a sniper of Sturmabteilung officer's and political officers. Simply passing information, reporting troop movements or assisting people would be enough....enough, also, to land you in prison, but you'd be part of the resistance for a better future for your kids.

From what I know about you, I think you'd become part of the solution. Your uncertainty is one of not knowing how to be part of the solution.
That's a simple matter of training, even if it's OJT. Just being eyes and ears is a big help. :)
