LPGA star to play in men's PGA event. Men still BANNED from LPGA

Public course spread a little further thanks to Tiger Woods' popularity, and some of the private clubs became semi-private to try to generate extra cash. A lot of people ended up giving up their memberships at the semi-privates because they played so seldom it was cheaper to pay as you go instead of dropping monthly checks in the mail. I think to survive, a lot of them need to give up the golf/pool/tennis triumvirate and add in other aspects that might lure in members for other things like gyms, mountain biking hours, video gaming lounges, maybe have fly-in days to close play and open the property up for drone user gatherings. Right now it is a slow death. Several in our region have dropped from 18 to 9 holes to reduce operating costs.

BTW, if you're a golfer, no offense intended.

Obviously not everyone who enjoys golf is a square-head Repugnant.

Golf is something to be endured, not enjoyed. It is sadomasochism without the happy ending :innocent:

I have a significant personal and family history with the industry but haven't actually played in a long time.

It is, indeed the money. Perhaps we should consider why the women make so much less.

It's because they're a minor league. That should be obvious. You want to make the big money you have to play in the top league against the best. Women have chosen to create a minor league for themselves where the competition is much easier.

True in a traditional sense but it is a sport that has become more accessible out of necessity to the masses in the last decade or so. Golf clubs are struggling to keep their doors open which has resulted in many of them getting off their high horses. People are less and less interested in a sport that takes hours to play.

Got that right. No reason it should take 5 hours to play 18 holes. Ban carts and lady golfers.

Not only that, but it's expensive!!! Green fees for one round at a lower end course are in the neighborhood of $50 bucks. The better ones are in the $75 range and the high end courses cost well over $100 bucks per round.

So don't play golf, practice golf. And i don't mean at a driving range since that's expensive too. Hit plastic balls or homemade paper balls or even pine cones at vacant fields or schools or parks. Doesn't really cost a thing then.

Looks like tiger woods might win the memorial tournament going on this weekend. He's in like 5th place going into sunday. What a story that would be.

*LPGA star to play in men's PGA event. Men still BANNED from LPGA

june 1 2018 Brittany Lincicome has been offered a sponsor exemption to compete on the PGA Tour this summer at the Barbasol Championship.

She's playing because of a sponsor exemption. The sponsor, ie the entity footing the bill, can exempt anyone they want from the normal qualifying requirements. Do you believe in free enterprise or not?

Hey einstein. The problem is not with letting her play in a men's event. The problem is the LPGA banning men!!!! THINK

They should let men play period whether they are trannies or not.

So you're against having gender specific pro sports leagues? Then there would be practically zero female professional athletes anywhere. Having the occasional female player in the PGA via sponsor's exemption is a cheap publicity stunt, nothing more. I guess you could make the argument that one guy has to miss out on his chance to win the coveted Barbasol championship, but it would be the lowest qualifying male getting bumped. The sponsor thinks they can get more bang for their advertising buck from the added buzz of having a woman in the tournament. A woman who has zero chance of winning which is about as much chance as the guy who got bumped has. What's the big deal?

So Text must think the right thing to do is have male and female boxers fight each other too. And WWF should be mixed . It would be fair is his tiny mind.
