The conservative opinion is that the US economy worked very well until GovCo meddled with it, and the Great Depression was lengthened because of FDR's meddling. It also created the entitlement mentality that has prevented the poor from building wealth, and brought our economy to it's current unsustainable condition. We are now mirroring the end of the Roman Empire.

The money multiplier for Government theft is effectively ZERO. The reason is due to the FACT that in order to spend money, Government must first forcefully extract it from those who actually earn it. Pick up a book sometime, you might become slightly informed.
