So an increase in the minimum wage is going to no longer make these jobs low paying?

No kidding. Raising the minimum wage isn't going to do anything but raise the bar for poverty, put people out of jobs, and business owners out of business. I can't stand how Obama uses the exceptions like Walmart as his rule that companies can afford to pay more. How many small business ledgers has he seen? How many companies has he ever run? If raising the minimum wage is what's going to fix the problems let's make it $50 an hour so we can all live in the land of rainbows, unicorns, and money Fairies.

Every time Kenny Kartoons posts a graphic he thinks is klever, it quickly gets shredded.

Does he see any of this? Does he ever learn from any of it?

Or is he a stealth conservative, serving up softballs for us to knock out of the park?

Based on the three original thought responses that I have seen from him, he's far, far from conservative. He's a flaming libtard, emphasis on lib and 'tard.

I thought our chief magistrate has a mandate to actually solve some simple social dilemmas merely by faithfully executing a federal doctrine and insisting on the same with State laws.

Why does it seem that republican job creation strategies only extend to wars on abstractions such as crime, drugs, and terror?

The job loss myth:

Summary: Reviews the past two decades of research on the impact of minimum wage increases on employment: this study concludes that the weight of the evidence points to little or no effect of minimum wage increases on job growth. The study also finds that a review of the minimum wage literature commonly cited by minimum wage opponents is flawed because it is subjective, relies in large part on studies of wage increases in foreign countries, and fails to consider the most sophisticated and recent minimum wage studies.

If you believe the CBO:

""President Obama’s proposal to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour would increase earnings for 16.5 million low-wage Americans but cost the nation about 500,000 jobs, congressional budget analysts said Tuesday.""

The job loss reality is that an almost three dollar hike in the minimum wage will kill jobs. It's all fine and dandy to show a report where there is a minimal hike in the minimum wage because most people don't make minimum wage, so a 25-50 cent jump doesn't mean much. But when you jump it up that high, then there are many businesses where the majority of their employees will get raises and many can't afford that. It's easy to sit back and spout ideology, but when decisions have to be made and the money isn't there, then something has to be done, and far too often the quickest way is to axe the low man on the totem pole.

So, what should we do? Force lower prices? If you can't increase wages, then what is your fix for helping people out of poverty? People don't want to increase money for education because they claim our school system is broken, education brings people out of poverty. Should we ban automation? Fix the infastructure?

People who criticize never seem to offer solutions.

What are your fixes, more tanks?

Can you show any long-term studies with graphs or charts that show minimum wage hikes are job killers? For instance the MW was raised during Clinton's presidency yet it was a period of economic growth. How many jobs were lost or gained during other hikes?

As far as I'm concerned it's not about ideology but actual facts and numbers. There are arguments on both sides of the issue but it's not as cut and dried as conservatives like to think.
